Smith & Wesson Model 686 - The Best General Purpose Revolver Made!
The Smith & Wesson Model 686 is a L-frame working duty revolver, whether that duty be self-protection from two-legged critters, hunting up to medium-sized game, defending the hacienda, or even for protection against those that have big claws to work their way into the body and big teeth for chomping on those body parts they dig out.
Join me as I tell the story of one S&W Model 686.

Ruger PC Carbine with Glock Magazines
With the advent of the new Smith & Wesson M&P FPC, I needed to take a look at my Ruger PC carbine that has been in the safe for a while. Since I am not one of the lucky ones who receive T&E guns for review, I needed to determine if the Ruger PC carbine was still relevant.
The Smith & Wesson M&P FPC exhibits a tactical look and feel plus the fact that it can be folding in half for easy storage and just as easily put into action, while the Ruger PC Carbine is built on a familiar two-piece take-down platform similar to the 10/22 and Charger takedown.
The Ruger PC Carbine has that rugged Ruger feel to it, and the look of the Ruger PC Carbine is of a more politically-correct pistol caliber-carbine, in that the style has more of a traditional look and feel.

Son of a Gun!
While personal firearms of today are considered "black evil weapons", there was artistry, beauty, utility, and of course, lethality in the firearms of periods past.
Though most now are collector's items, join me in this quick visit, set to music, with firearms that have kept, and some that can still keep, people safe from harm throughout the world.

Kimber K6S, DAO .357 Magnum with Character
When Kimber came up with their first revolver, they did it right. The K6S DAO is one of the finest revolvers in the marketplace. Then, Kimber expanded the K6S line to a series of DA/SA revolvers, and one of which I hope to obtain - one of these days, maybe, hopefully.
Watch for a full review of the Kimber K6S DAO 2-inch .357 Magnum revolver that includes features, shooting, carry & conceal, and my final words.

M200 .38 Special Revolver From Rock Island Armory
When it comes to value for money, the RIA M200 exceeds the competition in every aspect. Of course, it has its foibles, as do other firearms on the market.
The M200 is available for the budget-minded first-time gun purchaser, one who needs an excellent revolver with mild recoil to train with or to train others, and those who just want an excellent revolver to add to an existing inventory.
Whether the M200 is to be used as a truck gun, tool box gun, fishing tackle gun, house gun, and or carried for personal protection, is totally up to the user. For any choice, I believe the M200 to be a good investment.

Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380 - Not bad! Not bad at all.
I was skeptical of the Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380 - at first. After firing it, I decided that it was worth keeping after all. Easy recoil as compared to the Rock Island Armory "Baby" Rock and Glock G42 , highly concealable, and just a fun gun to shoot.
Some trials and tribulations the first time at the range; light primer strikes and not locking back on the last round, but the first seemed ammo-related and the latter could have been me shooting a small pocket-pistol this size.
While I was hesitant about the Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380 at first, but I must say that it is a not a bad pistol. With its double-action operation, double-strike capabilities, and comfort in shooting, I actually favor it over the Rock Island Armory Baby Rock and Glock G42.

Hallway Drill - Master Class
The Hallway Drill, which started development using a hallway in my home, as part of a home defense situation, formed the foundation for a scenario in which I may have to move down my hallway to locate and engage a threat.
Initially, I had to create the movements that I would need, such as keeping my back to the wall, transitioning from one side of the hallway to the other, and transitioning my firearm safely from one hand to the other while doing so.
The hallway drill provides the opportunity to practice strong and weak hand shooting from standing one-hand positions and two-hand isosceles positions. It also provides practice for transitioning from one side of a hallway to the other, transitions from one shooting stance to another, reloading a revolver using a speed loader, and safely transitioning your handgun from one hand to the other.

Ruger American Ranch 7.62X39mm
Ruger produced the Ruger American Ranch rifle in 7.62x39mm that I thought was worth a look. Doing some research on the Ruger, and although I was not enthralled by the polymer-based stock, I felt that it would be worthy since all of the reviews that I read and viewed were positive. I hoped that my perception of shortcomings with the CZ 527 would be mitigated with the Ruger – same 7.62x39mm church, but in a different pew.
So, here I present a viewpoint of the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39mm.

Sig Sauer M11-A1 Compact 9mm
Designed to meet, and exceed, rigorous military standards, the Sig Sauer M11-A1 Compact is a performer. The M11-A1 is a solid, rather chunky handful with a 15+1 capacity. The M11-A1 is on par, if not surpassing, what is available for compact carry these days.
Hello there! It’s the Range Ronin, and today I am taking a gander at the Sig Sauer M11-A1. A not so common compact pistol for concealed carry.
