Processing Parental Wound and Family Brokenness
All of us have to come to terms with our family history and understand how our parental relationship influenced our mental and emotional health. As many confront their mental health struggles, addictions and relationship patterns, we have to learn how to process through what influenced many of our thinking and behaving patterns.
We often carry a sense of denial about our upbringing, where we cannot see what we need to see. And even as we begin to let ourselves understand, we feel guilty for even going there, as though recognizing parental wounds means you are dishonoring them.
