Trump's Troubles (Strange Bedfellows, Ep. 27 w/ Tyler Nixon)
From allegations of plotting to overturn a lost election to illegally stowing classified documents at his Florida estate, former President Donald Trump faces four criminal indictments in four different cities as he vies to reclaim the White House.
The cases, totaling 91 felony counts, are winding through the courts at different speeds. Some might not reach trial this year, while one is set to begin in a matter of weeks.
Then there are the civil cases. On Friday a judge ordered the former president and his companies to pay nearly $355 million in a ruling in the New York civil fraud case, and barred #Trump from conducting business in New York for three years. A recent ruling in the E. Jean Carroll case will set Trump back yet another $83 million.
Meanwhile in Georgia, prosecutors on Friday called witnesses to push back on claims that a romantic relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis and Nathan Wade — the prosecutor she hired to lead her case against former president Donald Trump — should disqualify her. Trump and his co-defendants are seeking to have Willis removed from the case over the relationship.
At this point, we need a team of lawyers just to keep up with Trump’s court calendar, and the litany of lawsuits he’s juggling. So we called one of the best legal analysts we know to break all this down for our viewers.
This week on “Strange Bedfellows” it’s a pleasure to welcome back to the show Tyler Nixon, longtime friend to and personal attorney for Roger Stone. He is also a the host of “The Tyler Nixon Show” on the TNT Radio Network.
We last saw Tyler on Episode 16 of “Strange Bedfellows” in October 2023.
Tyler Nixon attended Georgetown University and The University of Virginia Law School, served in the U.S. Army’s Berlin Brigade and did a tour of combat duty in the first Iraq war. Later, he served as a staff assistant to former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, worked on the presidential transition team for President George W. #Bush in 2001, and on #Republican Ron Paul’s presidential campaign in 2008.
Nixon is an Army Infantry Veteran, #Conservative, Constitutionalist, Advocate, Writer, Technologist, Critical Historian, and a self-described “extremist in the defense of liberty.”
Tonight we will get Tyler’s legal analysis on Trump’s latest legal troubles, hash out that rumor of a Trump/#Kennedy ticket that keeps going around, plus a whole lot more.
A fascinating conversation is always guaranteed on “Strange Bedfellows.”

The Siege of Leningrad and Burt Lancaster's "Unknown War"
The Russian city of St. Petersburg on Saturday marked the 80th anniversary of the end of a devastating World War II siege by Nazi forces with a series of memorial events attended by Russian President Vladimir #Putin and close allies. #Leningrad80
The #Kremlin leader laid flowers at a monument to fallen Soviet defenders of the city, then called #Leningrad, on the banks of the Neva River, and then at Piskarevskoye Cemetery, where hundreds of thousands of siege victims are buried.
On Saturday afternoon, Putin was joined by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Gatchina, a town outside #StPetersburg that once housed camps for Soviet prisoners of war, for the unveiling of a statue commemorating civilians killed during the Nazi onslaught.
The Red Army broke the nearly two-and-a-half year blockade on Jan. 19, 1943, after more than 900 days of fierce fighting. Estimates of the death toll vary, but historians agree that more than 1 million Leningrad residents perished from hunger, or air and artillery bombardments, during the siege.
It is estimated that over 600,000 Leningrad residents died of hunger -- far more than died from bombs or artillery fire.
Putin was born and raised in Leningrad, and his #WWII veteran father suffered wounds while fighting for the city. Putin's elder brother died of starvation at the age of two. He is buried in a mass grave, where the president lays a ceremonial wreath every year.
On this 80th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the #Nazis, we will take you on a deep dive into the history of that historic battle and show you some incredible footage from the Soviet and German archives that Westerners rarely ever see.
In 1978, actor Burt Lancaster co-produced a 20-part documentary series about World War Two on the Eastern front called "The Unknown War."
The series was produced with the help of the Soviet Union, who opened their private archives of footage captured by Red Army photographers during the war for this production. Nearly four million feet of raw film footage was stored alongside German films captured by the Allies after the war for 35 years but never exhibited to the public -- until "The Unknown War" showed it to the world for the first time.
In this special report, we will show you excerpts from this mammoth 20-part series specific to the Battle for Leningrad, and tell you the amazing backstory of Burt Lancaster's personal mission to make this historic film documenting WWII like you've never seen it before.
Tune in tonight at 9 PM Eastern for the premiere.

Why Did MLK Support Israel
Today is Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday and #MLKDay in the United States.
Each year, American #Jews, like all Americans, mark #MLK Day by remembering him as a powerful voice against racism and for civil rights. But, for Jews, Dr. King was also something else: a uniquely important ally in the fight against #antisemitism and for a secure #Israel.
Today, Dr. King’s close bond with the Jewish community is treated only as a small footnote of his life and work. But, toward the end of his life, Dr. King devoted significant time and energy to strengthening what were becoming increasingly strained ties between Black Americans and U.S. Jews.
One issue Dr. King was particularly concerned with was the growing mischaracterization of #Zionism as #racism.
Dr. King spoke and wrote often about Israel. However, the true depth of Dr. King’s commitment to Israel was readily apparent in a September, 1967 letter he sent to Adolph Held, then president of the organization I now lead, the #Jewish Labor Committee.
Dr. King wrote Held after the Jewish leader contacted him regarding press accounts of a conference that Dr. King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference participated in. At the meeting, strongly worded resolutions blasting Zionism and embracing the position of the Arab powers had been considered.
Understanding Held’s worries, Dr. King explained that, beyond offering opening remarks, he had no part in the conference. But, Dr. King said, had he been present during the discussion of the resolutions “I would have made it crystal clear that I could not have supported any resolution calling for Black separatism or calling for a condemnation of Israel and an unqualified endorsement of the policy of the Arab powers.”
“Israel’s right to exist as a state is incontestable,” Dr. King wrote. He then added, almost prophetically, “At the same time the great powers have the obligation to recognize that the Arab world is in a state of imposed poverty and backwardness that must threaten peace and harmony.”
Referring to the stake U.S. oil companies have in the Middle East, Dr. King went on to note that “some Arab feudal rulers are no less concerned for oil wealth and neglect the plight of their own peoples. The solution will have to be found in statesmanship by Israel and progressive Arab forces who in concert with the great powers recognize fair and peaceful solutions are the concern of all humanity and must be found.”
Were Dr. King’s comments to Held intended only to soothe a miffed supporter? Hardly.
In a March 25, 1968, speech to the Rabbinical Assembly, Dr. King said: “peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security and that security must be a reality.”
Ten days later, on April 4, Dr. King was murdered while organizing support for striking sanitation workers in Memphis, TN.
In this highlight from Episode 24 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss the pro-Israel legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King with my friend on the other side of the conflict, Caleb Maupin -- a #communist who supports #Palestine -- who is also a great admirer of Dr. King.
Happy MLK Day! Let his legacy be an inspiration to find peace for all mankind, everywhere.

"Death to America! Death to Israel!" The Houthi Crisis w/ Caleb Maupin (Strange Bedfellows, Ep. 24)
Early this morning the U.S. military struck another Houthi-controlled site in #Yemen that it had determined was putting commercial vessels in the Red Sea at risk, a day after the U.S. and Britain launched multiple airstrikes targeting #Houthi rebels.
The first day of strikes Friday hit 28 locations and struck more than 60 targets. President Joe #Biden had warned Friday that the #Houthis could face further strikes.
The latest strike came after the U.S. Navy on Friday warned American-flagged vessels to steer clear of areas around Yemen in the Red Sea. The warning came as Yemen’s Houthis vowed fierce retaliation, further raising the prospect of a wider conflict in a region already beset by #Israel’s war in #Gaza.
At a stop in Pennsylvania Friday, President Biden told reporters: “We will make sure that we respond to the Houthis if they continue this outrageous behavior along with our allies.”
The White House said in November that it was considering re-designating the Houthis as a terrorist organization after they began their targeting of civilian vessels. The administration formally delisted the Houthis as a “foreign terrorist organization” and “specially designated global #terrorists” in 2021, undoing a move by President Donald #Trump.
Lt. Gen. Douglas Sims, director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Friday’s airstrikes were largely in low-populated areas, and the number of those killed would not be high. He said the strikes hit weapons, radar and targeting sites, including in remote mountain areas.
As the bombing lit the predawn sky over multiple sites held by the Iranian-backed rebels, it forced the world to again focus on Yemen’s long civil war, which began when the Houthis seized the country’s capital.
Since November, the rebels have repeatedly targeted ships in the Red Sea, saying they were avenging Israel’s offensive in Gaza against #Hamas, in solidarity with #Palestine. But they have frequently targeted vessels with tenuous or no clear links to Israel, imperiling shipping in a key route for global trade and energy shipments.
The Houthis’ military spokesman said in a recorded address that the U.S. airstrikes would “not go unanswered or unpunished.”
Though the Biden administration and its allies have tried to calm tensions in the Middle East for weeks and prevent any wider conflict, the latest round of strikes threatened to ignite one.
Saudi Arabia — which supports the government-in-exile that the Houthis are fighting — quickly sought to distance itself from the attacks as it seeks to maintain a delicate détente with Iran and a cease-fire it has in Yemen. The Saudi-led, U.S.-backed war in Yemen has killed more than 150,000 people, including fighters and civilians, and created one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters, killing tens of thousands more.
Tonight on “Strange Bedfellows” our guest is Caleb Maupin, reporter for #Russia’s RT News and founder of the Center for Political Innovation (CPI), who has a unique personal insight on the current crisis in Yemen. He was onboard an Iranian cargo ship headed for Yemen back in 2015 carrying humanitarian aid for the Red Crescent Society when the ship became involved in a showdown on the high seas.
Caleb is is a widely acclaimed speaker, author, journalist, political analyst, and a communist. The activist group he founded, CPI, has long advocated for the Houthis and the Palestinian liberation cause.
The official slogan of the Houthi movement is: “God Is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, A Curse Upon the Jews, Victory to Islam.”
Why would a proud American like Caleb strongly support a movement that intends to destroy his country? He will tell us why on Episode 24 of “Strange Bedfellows.”
It’s a pleasure to welcome our friend Caleb Maupin back to the show tonight.
Join us at 9 PM Eastern for another incredible conversation!

Remedy for a Sick Society
Crime. Addiction. Despair. Fear. Illness. Wars abroad, and escalating political violence at home.
Americans are ailing, our country is sick.
Many still have not recovered -- financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually -- from the impact of the pandemic, and are still struggling to return to "normal" again.
As the third anniversary of #January6th just reminded us, Americans are still very angry and deeply divided. A growing number in recent surveys say they support the use of violence to achieve political ends.
That's a troubling sign as we head into another election year, considering that half the country does not believe the results of the last election were legitimate.
In this highlight from Episode 23 of "Strange Bedfellows" I spoke to Karen Lorre, a life coach and spiritual healer, about how we can heal our sick society.
Karen shared some inspiring and helpful actions we as individuals can take every day to make this country -- and our world -- a more loving and joyful place.
Karen has been a personal friend of 2024 Independent presidential candidate #RFKJr for over 30 years. She says #Kennedy is the Remedy to healing #America's political divide.
If this really is a "battle for the soul of America" -- as Joe #Biden said four years ago -- neither Biden nor #Trump bring to the table a message or policies that will heal our country. Karen says only #RFK can do that (and I agree!).
This was an uplifting, inspiring conversation. If you're intrigued by this highlight, watch my full 2-hour interview with Karen Lorre on Episode 23 of "Strange Bedfellows."

Strange Bedfellows Ep. 23: Can RFK Heal the Divide? (Guest: Karen Lorre)
Three years ago today, a riot broke out at the U.S. Capitol when supporters of President #Trump stormed the building, angered over an election they believed was stolen.
While it was hardly an "#insurrection," what happened on #January6 had a lasting impact on our country. It changed our relationship with our government, our media, and each other. It made us question the fairness of our justice system, and the fairness of our elections.
At the start of 2024 we find ourselves headed into another election year when our country isn't just divided in half, as it was four years ago between #Republicans and #Democrats. America is now divided into thirds, between left, right, and center, with 41% of voters identifying as Independents, a first in our entire history.
Recent polls show #RFKJr leading both #Biden and #Trump with Independent voters, and beating all competition with younger voters under age 45. He's holding steady at around 22-24%, making this officially a three-way race for the White House.
Obviously, #Kennedy's message of bipartisanship is resonating with voters. But can he manage to heal the deep divide in a country that's so polarized? Or are Americans unwilling to set their differences aside? With two wars raging abroad, we also find ourselves on the brink of civil war at home. Is Kennedy the Remedy?
Tonight's guest says yes -- and she speaks from experience. Karen Lorre has known Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for 33 years.
She says he's uniquely qualified to lead a divided nation at this critical moment in our history. From her own personal knowledge of the candidate, she says Bobby is a healer. It's always been a part of his nature -- and not just in his work as an environmentalist, healing our polluted landscapes and waterways, but in his relationships with humans, animals, and all living things.
Karen is a volunteer on the #Kennedy24 campaign, even though by her own admission she's never been political or worked in politics before -- because she truly believes he's our nation's last best hope, and that #RFK is the leader America needs. Tonight, she will tell us why.

GUEST BIO:
Born Karen Witter inLong Beach, California, she attended the University of California at Irvine, studying the biochemical origins of mental illness. To pay her way through school she worked as a model and appeared in commercials before getting her big break in #Hollywood.
During the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s Karen appeared on popular television shows like Cheers, The X-Files, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, NYPD Blue, Dharma & Greg, and Malcolm in the Middle.
If you're a fan of the soaps, you might remember she played the role of Tina Lord on ABC's One Life to Live in the 1990s. She was nominated for a Soap Opera DigestAwardfor Outstanding Female Newcomer in Daytime.
Karen later retired from acting, and became a life coach and spiritual healer. She has written three books: Chronic Pleasure, Use The Law of Attraction to Transmute Fatigue and Pain into Vibrant Energy; Effortless Enchantment, A Memoir of Magic, Magnetism and Miracles, and Chronic Pleasure in Relationships.
Her work has been endorsed by Dr. Bruce Lipton and Deepak Chopra, who said “Karen Lorre’s love radiates to you… You can trust that Karen is the real deal —she embodies Chronic Pleasure and teaches you to do the same.”

When it comes to healing, Karen Lorre knows a lot -- and can teach us a lot about how to have better relationships, more fulfilling lives lived with purpose, and in turn, how we can heal the American divide with RFK Jr. It's our pleasure to welcome Karen to the show tonight.
Join us LIVE January 6th from 9-11 P.M. Eastern for Episode 23 of "Strange Bedfellows." Our first show of the New Year will bring some healing to a world that needs it.

BREAKING: Epstein Documents Released
Over 2000 pages of unsealed documents from a lawsuit connected to accused sex-trafficker Jeffrey #Epstein were publicly released on Wednesday. This is the first set of documents to be unsealed under a December 18 court order, with more expected in the coming weeks.
The documents in total, including material yet to be unsealed, are expected to include hundreds of names, including some of Epstein’s accusers, prominent businesspeople, politicians and potentially more.
The document dump arrived late Wednesday evening, January 3rd, while Maverick News was live on the air.
I dived right in and already found some eyebrow-raising revelations.
Here’s what I’ve discovered in the court documents so far about former Presidents Bill #Clinton and Donald #Trump, 2024 Independent presidential candidate #RFKJr, Epstein’s former attorney Alan #Dershowitz, Prince Andrew, as well Michael Jackson and Steven Hawking (both deceased).
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial five years ago. His convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in 2021 and remains in prison.
Maxwell released a statement Wednesday maintaining her innocence.

Were LBJ and Nixon Involved in the JFK Conspiracy?
In this “Best of Strange Bedfellows” highlight from Episode 22 (original air date: Nov. 25, 2023) we talked to #JFK historian Jim DiEugenio on the 60th anniversary of the #JFKAssassination.
James DiEugenio is the editor of KennedysAndKing.com, and the author of five books about the assassinations of the 1960s. He wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited" documentary series and is a co-author of the new book "Chokeholds: Proof There Was A Conspiracy in the JFK Assassination."
We delve into the theory posited by former #Nixon and #Trump advisor Roger Stone alleging that #Kennedy's own vice president, #LBJ, was part of the #conspiracy to murder JFK.
In his 2016 book "The Man Who Killed Kennedy," Stone makes his case against LBJ. Jim DiEugenio says Stone's book is ridden with factual errors and corrects them here.
Is Roger Stone running a clever ruse to distract the public from the involvement of his former employer, President Richard Nixon?
We'll look at the circumstantial evidence against both Lyndon Johnson and Nixon, and let you, the jury, decide if one or both men were guilty. Or perhaps you'll conclude that both former presidents have been falsely accused of involvement in the crime of the century.
This was my favorite "Strange Bedfellows" episode of 2023, and a perfect finale' to the year.

The Nazi Roots of Hamas
By now many people have heard of #Hamas, but very few know much about their history, genealogy, ideology, and aims.
In this highlight from Episode 20 of "Strange Bedfellows" I briefly lay out the historical background of the Palestinian liberation movement so that we may better understand of whom and what we are speaking when we say, “Hamas.” It begins with the Nazis.
Yes, the Nazis.
As the Führer hid in his bunker and prepared for his suicide, he penned his last political will and testament. His last written words were a plea to the world to continue to “resist mercilessly the poisoner of all nations, international Jewry,” a plea most thoroughly and systematically heeded by the Islamic Jihadists and one of their primary movements, Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, the Islamic Resistance Movement known as Hamas.
To fully grasp the ideology that drives Hamas and the Palestinian liberation movement today, one must first understand the history that gave rise to it -- and specifically, Nazi collaborator Haj Amin al-Husseini, the tie that binds Hitler to Hamas.
Haj Amin al-Husseini came to power through a British act of appeasement after he had been tried in absentia and found guilty of inciting riots in #Palestine in 1920; the riots arose in response to the first proposal for a two-state solution outlined by the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement of January 1919.
Attempting to calm the Arab population, British mandate governor Herbert Samuel appointed him Mufti of Jerusalem on 8 May 1921. Among the newly appointed Mufti’s first actions was a declaration of #jihad against the British and the #Jews. In March 1933 he paid his first official visit to the new Nazi German General Consul Heinrich Wolff in Jerusalem. Once again wanted by the British for inciting the Arab Revolt of 1936 – 1939, al-Husseini fled Palestine for #Iraq.
After inciting an overthrow of the Iraqi government and murderous pogroms that resulted in the slaughter of hundreds of Jews, the Mufti found safe harbor in Berlin, where he was handsomely rewarded by the #Nazis with money, a lavish lifestyle, and armed guards. He was employed by Nazi Germany making propaganda radio broadcasts for the Arab world.
As early as January 1941 al-Husseini was recruiting Bosnian Muslims to serve in the Waffen SS and in SS killing units. The largest of the Mufti’s Muslim killing units was the infamous 13th Handschar Division of 21,065 men.
As a result of his murderous actions in service to the Nazis, al-Husseini was charged with war crimes -- yet, he managed to evade prosecution at #Nuremberg and flee, aided by British intelligence.
In June 1946 he turned up in Cairo, where, as noted above, the Muslim Brotherhood gave him a hero’s welcome. That same year the Mufti took in his second cousin Yasser #Arafat as his protégé; he brought in a former Nazi commando officer to teach Arafat “the fine points of guerilla warfare.” Some scholars argue that “al-Husseini was himself most likely the true founder of the al-Fatah,… Arafat’s terror cell,… the nucleus of the PLO.” (currently the ruling authority in the West Bank.)
Hamas emerged immediately after the outbreak of the Palestinians’ First Intifada against Israel as a militant Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood on 9 December 1987.
The Movement was founded by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and his comrades Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi and Mahmoud al-Zahar. Yassin grew up in awe of Haj Amin al-Husseini. He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1957 and in 1973 established the Islamic Congress in #Gaza to expand the influence of the Brotherhood; in 1978 he was among the founders of the Islamic University of Gaza.
Yassin and his cohorts embraced the Nazis’ fundamental view that the Jews are “the dirtiest and meanest of all races, defiling the most sanctified and honored spot on earth,” making “no distinctions between Jews, Zionists, and Israelis.”
As in all ideologies driven by Jew hatred, from Hitler to Hamas, where the Jew is the enemy, #Judaism is the enemy.
Nazi ideology is alive and well today in parts of the Arab world, and especially in Gaza, where Hamas rules (for now).
In this highlight from Episode 20 of "Strange Bedfellows" (with guest Tyler McConnell), we give a brief history lesson of the Strangest Bedfellows of all time: the Nazis and the Arabs.
We'll even show you the most popular chain of clothing stores in Gaza City today: "Hitler 1" and "Hitler 2"-- where fashionable young Palestinian #fascists buy "Hitler Chic" apparel.

Why The Kennedys Remained Silent About the JFK/RFK Murders
In this “Best of Strange Bedfellows” highlight from Episode 22 (original air date: Nov. 25, 2023) we talked to #JFK historian Jim DiEugenio on the 60th anniversary of the #JFKAssassination.

He wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone’s “JFK Revisited” documentary series and is a co-author of the new book “Chokeholds: Proof There Was A Conspiracy in the JFK Assassination.”
A viewer from Ontario asked Jim, “why has the #Kennedy family remained silent all these years about any possibility of a #conspiracy in the murders of President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert F. Kennedy?”
We delve into that mystery, and talk about why 2024 presidential candidate #RFKJr reversed that trend when he became the first (and only) member of the #Kennedys to ask questions about what really happened to his father and his uncle.

JFK: What The Doctors Saw (Film Review)
In this highlight from Episode 21 of "Strange Bedfellows" we review the outstanding new documentary film airing now on Paramount Plus, "#JFK: What The Doctors Saw."
60 years after the murder of President Kennedy, seven of the doctors who examined Kennedy's wounds at Parkland Hospital reunite to discuss a day they'll never forget.
Our guest is Bruce de Torres, marketing director forTrineDay Publishing, host ofWORLDSTAGEon TNT Radio, and author ofGOD, SCHOOL, 9/11 AND JFK: The Lies That Are Killing Us and The Truth That Sets Us Free.
David Denton, History Professor at Olney Central College and author ofEssays on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedysays of Bruce’s book:
“In this excellent work, Bruce de Torres takes us through 200-plus years of American history, revealing the darker, hidden side of it – elites (in and out of our institutions) controlling us with lies and moving us toward #fascism. Incontrovertible facts point toward #conspiracy, especially in the assassinations of #JFK, #MLK, and #RFK, and in 9/11. Mr. de Torres correctly says we must be ‘near those entrusted with power,’ or else corruption and exploitation begin. I highly recommend this detailed, informative work that takes the reader right up through the events unfolding in today’s world!”

From The River To The Sea...
In this “Best of Strange Bedfellows” highlight from Episode 20 (original air date: Nov. 11, 2023) we continue our conversation with Tyler McConnell, a high school teacher in Missouri, about the radicalization we see happening on school campuses and universities, and alleged #antisemitism among #GenZ protesters who chant “From the river to the sea, #Palestine will be free!”
Tyler McConnell is also a journalist, musician, standup comic, self-professed “#Conservative #Christian #Communist” and activist with the Center for Political Innovation (CPI).
He was the original co-host of “Strange Bedfellows,” appearing alongside me in episodes 1-4. It’s always such a treat to have him back on the show, and this was definitely one of our best conversations of the year 2023.
PROGRAMMING NOTE:We are taking the month of December off from “Strange Bedfellows” for some family time during the holidays. Every Saturday night this month we will rebroadcast highlights from some of our favorite episodes of 2023 as a year-in-review (and what a crazy year it has been). New live episodes return starting January 6, 2024!

Robert Groden's 50-Year Search for JFK Truth
On November 22, 1963, the day President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was shot inDealey Plaza, Robert Groden had just turned 18. That day was his birthday, and he was at home playing hooky from Forest Hills High School in Queens, New York. He sat glued to the television watching the grim saga unfold on television all weekend, like every American.
Since that fateful birthday Groden has devoted his entire life to ferreting out the truth beneath the surface of the bizarre pictures that flashed across his TV screen a half century ago.
In the 1970s, Groden showed the American people the infamous Zapruder film of the #JFKAssassination for the very first time on television. Later, he worked as a photographic expert on the House Select Committee on Assassinations investigation of Kennedy's murder, and consulted on Oliver Stone's blockbuster film, "#JFK."
Groden (R) consulting with the HSCA, 1979.
Author of seven books on the Kennedy assassination, including a New York Times best-seller, Groden now lives in Dallas, where he lectures and sells his books to tourists in Dealey Plaza.
He has been ticketed more than 80 times by the city, arrested and jailed twice. All of these alleged infractions have been tossed out by city courts as violations by the city of Groden's First Amendment rights.
His long legal battle with the City of Dallas and the 6th Floor Museum was so incredible it became the subject of the 2014 documentary film, "Plaza Man."
As we marked the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy's murder last month, author Bruce de Torres and I paid tribute to Robert Groden on Episode 21 of "Strange Bedfellows."
Groden is one of the last living legends of JFK Assassination research. We feel his tremendous contribution to our understanding of this unsolved mystery should be honored.

What JFK Said About Palestine in 1939
In 1939, 22 year-old John F. #Kennedy, son of Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy, wrote his father a long letter from Palestine.
In this remarkable 4-page document, the future president displays an astonishing ability to grasp this complex conflict that still haunts our world today.
I'll tell you what the letter said in my interview with Welsh Republic Podcast tonight at 9 P.M. Eastern.

JFK's Legacy of Peace
Whilevisiting Arlington National Cemeteryon Veterans Day, just a few weeks before his death, #JFK stood on the grounds of the Arlington House high on a hill above the national cemetery.
As he took in the sweeping views of the rolling green hills and fall foliage, his eyes continued across the Potomac River to the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. He wistfully said that the views were so spectacularthat he “could stay here forever.”
After his death on November 22, 1963, his widow Jackie selected a plot just below #Arlington House. This established the site of the #Kennedy family graves and offered her late husband the forever view he requested.
The view from Kennedy's grave at Arlington National Cemetery.
President Kennedy often told those close to him that he wanted the words "he kept the peace" inscribed on his tombstone. Although those words do not adorn his grave marker today, we agree with Kennedy's self-assessment of his own contribution to history.
In this excerpt from Episode 21 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss Kennedy's Legacy of Peace with radio personality and author Bruce de Torres.
After many important reflections upon President Kennedy's life and death on the 60th anniversary of Dallas, perhaps his commitment to #peace is, above all else, what JFK should be best remembered for.
We will also talk about how JFK's nephew #RFKJr is running for president to continue his uncle's legacy of peace, as the world stands on the brink of #WWIII globally and civil war on the home front. Can Kennedy #HealTheDivide before it's too late?
Catch the premiere tonight at 9 PM Eastern!

How JFK Tried To End The Cold War in 1963
Our #JFK60 special coverage continues tonight at 9 PM Eastern with this encore presentation of our Maverick News interview with Kennedy Assassination historian James DiEugenio from October 22, 2022.
Be sure to join us live at 9 PM Saturday, November 25th, when Jim DiEugenio returns to the "Strange Bedfellows" podcast!
After the Cuban Missile Crisis, both President John F. #Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita #Khrushchev realized the #ColdWar was madness and tried to end it.
In 1963, the U.S. and the #USSR signed a Nuclear Test Ban Treaty that was the first giant step towards peace between the superpowers.
During the final months of his life, #JFK was also negotiating a truce with Cuban leader Fidel Castro through secret emissaries, and pulling U.S. advisors out of #Vietnam with an eye towards getting all American personnel out by 1965.
Kennedy's June 1963 "Peace Speech" at American University in Washington, D.C. outlined his vision for a peaceful coexistence with the #SovietUnion, and communist countries around the globe.
As historian Jim DiEugenio (screenplay writer for Oliver Stone's documentary "JFK Revisited" and author of the accompanying book) explains here, Kennedy and Khrushchev nearly ended the Cold War a quarter century before President Reagan did. Their efforts resulted in both leaders being removed from power by warmongering forces within their own governments.

Jim Garrison: The Man Who Inspired Oliver Stone's "JFK"
Our #JFK60 coverage continues tonight at 9 Eastern with an encore presentation of this October 2022 Maverick News broadcast. We hope you enjoy it.
30 years after the death of Jim Garrison , we remember the former New Orleans District Attorney who inspired Kevin Costner's character in Oliver Stone's 1992 opus, "#JFK."
Garrison was the only prosecutor in history to file murder charges against any of the Kennedy assassination (alleged) conspirators.
Although his prosecution of Clay Shaw was ultimately unsuccessful, Garrison left an indelible imprint on history. If the jury in that trial had been the American people, Jim Garrison probably would have won his case.
We talk to historian Jim DiEugenio (screenplay writer for Oliver Stone's documentary series "JFK Revisited" and author of the companion book) about how the work of Jim Garrison paved the way for three generations of JFK Assassination researchers, including himself.
We look back at the life of Jim Garrison, hear from both his critics and his supporters, and show you a rare excerpt from Garrison's final interview recorded shortly before his death on October 21, 1992.
