Episode 7 - Cursing Jim Falls: A Photography Adventure VLOG
The 7th Episode of my photography adventure VLOG series. I take you to a place I call the Cursing Jim Falls. Tucked away in the hills of Southern California, this waterfall is located near another, very popular waterfall of a similar name. Rumor has it the area was named after a guy, who cursed at any uninvited guests... This set of falls was shown to me by a friend many years ago. Over the years I've seen the landscape change drastically, but the watefall is always the same old set of falls.
See why I believe, I shot some of the beter photos I have ever taken. At first there really wasn't much to shoot. However, once we arrived at the waterfall and pond, there was no shortage of images to capture. This truly is one of my all time favorite spots to visit.

Photographing The Impossible Railroad
An Adventure VLOG, partly inspired by growing up a fan of Indiana Jones, playing a ton of Red Dead Redemption, and my general appreciation for pioneer or abandoned themed photography. This adventure takes me south to the US / Mexico border in search of the Worl'd Largest Wooden Trestle Bridge.
A journey that takes me 8 miles into the desert through train tunnels, bridges, and abandoned rail cars.
Shooting with a Nikon D780 with the Nikkor 24-120 f/4 and Tamron 10-20 f/2.8
All exit data included in the video.

Edit Better and Save Time With This Fast and Easy Lightroom Trick
Edit better and save time with this Lightroom trick that I use often. Shifting away from global edits, in favor of brushes, radial and linear gradiants, and new ai tools available in Lightroom Classic, has been my secret to taking creative control of my photos.
Working with a large subject, global edits can make them appear flat and two dimensional. The trick to avoiding this and how to preserve the perspective and depth, radial and linear gradiants offer a great solution for this. But those edits can bleed into areas you do not want them to. In the past the process could be painstakingly long. Today with ai masking and the tools available with Adobe Lightroom Classic, you can quickly and easily mask and apply linears to your edits with this simple trick.

Capturing a Rare California Waterfall
Come along for the adventure as I explore and photograph a rare California waterfall. After a series of storms and atmospheric river, the falls located in Black Star Canyon in California. These falls will flow very lightly through an old mine shaft during a typical year. On a year like this one, you will actualy see the waterfall split with it partially going through the mine shaft and the remaining flowing along the original path. People climb up into the shaft almost daily, it seems really easy to do. Not me though, it was cold when I recorded this and it was bad enough hiking through knee deep water most of the way.

Christmas VW and Boat Parade and Christmas Light Display From Santa's Perspective
You could call this "Santa's Point of View." This is a video I shot of the Eastlake Village Annual Christmas Boat Parade with the new DJI Mavic 3 Cine.
If you've been a subscriber to this channel for a while now you may remember the first one I shot with the DJI Phantom 3 Pro. This version is a combination of aerial hyperlapse, aerial video, and video shot on ground with the Nikon D780 stabilized by the DJI Ronin SC2. All aerial video was shot on the new DJI Mavic 3 Cine. The Mavic 3 performs really well in low light, combined with the Apple ProRes, you can really get the most out of your dynamic range.

Over two, thirteen hour days, I provided 100% of the drone footage for this crew. I was literally flying all day, while simultaneously charging 2 batteries and an extra remote control for my Mavic 2 Pro. Which as you will see, is still really easy to crash, even with collision avoidance. The drone did crash but luckily for me the bulk of the damage was to the props and we were able to continue the shoot.
I will cover the shots I create as I VLOG during the very brief moments when I was not flying. The majority of this footage will be from my drone.

How I Fixed Choppy Footage In Premiere Pro Fast
#premierepro #premierprotutorial #adobe #tips #tricks
Here's a quick tutorial on how to fix your choppy export footage in premiere pro fast. This is a simple solution, when nothing else is working, your recording frame rate and shutter speed are spot on, your sequence settings are correct, your export settings are correct but when you export your media, you end up with choppy footage.
If you have done everything else correct but still end up with choppy footage. You may not be using the Adobe Media Encoder. If you are like me and would select "Export" from the export menu, stop doing this right away and start using the Adobe Media Encoder from here on out. It solved all of my issues. All you have to do is select "Queue" instead of "Export" and this may solve your issue.
My specific issue occurred when I had dlog drone footage mixed in with my non log footage. The clips I captured with the DJI Mavic Pro 2 would skip while all the footage taken with my camera were fine. It may have something to do with the two formats, which further justifies dropping your clips in the Queue instead of Export direct, so that Adobe Media Encoder can polish your footage into a cleaner, more stable format.

DJI Mavic 3 Cine Unboxing and First Impression from a Pro Drone Photographer
Follow along as I provide you with an organic, non-incentivized first impression review and unboxing of the DJI Mavic 3 Cine.
I am a professional photographer who ranked in the top 99.3% of all DJI drone pilots in 2021, and regularly use drones with my photo shoots, multiple times per week. I have previously owned and flown the Phantom 3 Pro and Mavic 2 Pro. I still use the Mavic 2 Pro. I purchased the Mavic 3 Cine on the release date from DJI direct. I did not actually receive it until sometime around the 15th of November. This is my first hand reaction and testing of the Mavic 3 Cine with plenty of example footage.
The great news about the Mavic 3 Cine is my favorite feature is also available on the Mavic 3 Pro. The collision avoidance is a leap ahead of the former version on the Mavic 2 Pro.

A Surprising Way Anyone Can Make Money With Photography
*Disclaimer it is extremely dangerous to stand on the side of the road to take pictures. It is also illegal in some areas. If you decide to do this, do so at your own risk. You could get injured, die, or get fined.
I am going to show you why it is always good to, and sometimes pay to, go with the flow. Setback after setback ensued as I ventured out to make a landscape tutorial VLOG. The original destination was blocked. When I found an alternative location, it was difficult to VLOG with the sounds of loud exhausts from sports cars and sports bikes running by every few minutes. When I finally made my way into the woods, I could hear something stalking me in the bushes...
Determined to create something, I ended up documenting the cars and bikes rolling through. All the while discovering a surprising way anyone can earn extra money with photography in the process.
