Bridges to Cross Episode 5: "Take A Cup Of Kindness" 1986 TV Show (Lost Media) [Partial]
#80s #lostmedia #tvshow
This 80s lost media treasure has some primo grade a bad/hammy acting in it. The tooth guy at the beginning, the eye patch wearing villain. Beautiful. I like the lady who sounds like Zsa Zsa Gabor. Her accent is nuts. Tracy Bridges (Suzanne Pleshette) has the deepest smokers voice you've ever heard. She needs it. She tries to intimidate some special agent by saying she works for "World Week Magazine." REMEMBER MAGAZINES???
Kudos to the director for having Eva Gabor having so much dialog. I feel like I'm watching Green Acres. At the very end Nicolas Surovy has some great lines about her being a first-rate reporter and cut-throat competitor. Why does he say it so weird?
This is only about half of the full episode. Sorry folks, that's all that was on the tape. I saw it wasn't available anywhere on streaming and that only 1 episode had been posted, so I decided to share what I had.

"Apples Were Once the Forbidden Fruit" Produce A-Z With Robin Vitetta-Miller (1996)
#foodnetwork #90s #90stv #apple
More pro-apple propaganda from Big Apple. I do like how she refers to Adam and Eve and "that incident in the Garden of Eden." Also it's funny that this wholesome pro-apple...commercial(?) is sponsored by Equal. You know, that fake sugar that got banned after all those "cancer incidents." I'm pretty sure that was equal. Either way, don't use equal, but do eat apples. Not me though, I'm allergic.
-I have no idea who this lady is. I'm not even sure I spelled her name right, so if anyone knows, comment below.-
The lady is Robin Vitetta sometimes Robin Vitetta-Miller or sometimes just Robin Miller. This blog from 2005 gives a good overview of her work:
https://armchaircook.blogspot.com/2005/11/who-in-world-is-robin-miller.html
"Robin Miller has 12 years of experience as a food writer and nutritionist. She earned a master’s degree in Food and Nutrition from New York University. Currently, she is Contributing Editor for Health and Cooking Light magazines and has regular features in many national publications. Miller is also the author of six books, including: Picnics (Clarkson Potter, 2005), Verdure (Clarkson Potter, 2001), The Newlywed Cookbook (Sourcebooks, 1999), The Daily Soup (Hyperion, 1999), Jane Fonda, Cooking for Healthy Living (Turner, 1996), and The Newlywed Cookbook (R&E Publishers, 1991)" From 2005
She has tons of cookbooks on amazon. This one is from 2023: https://www.amazon.com/30-Minute-Meal-Prep-Healthy-Delicious/dp/1728268877

Weird 1986 New York City Commercials (WNYW)
#80s #commercial #1986 #tvcommercial #retrocommercials #fox #nyc
I love these 80's commercials. They are some of the weirdest commercials I have come across. The trump castle one is very strange. Love it. We have a nutrasweet jingle and an artistic Lehman Brothers commercial. They seem really big, I bet they'll never fail. We have another Jack Lalanne commercial with attractive women in it. A Gulden's mustard commercial that continued the 80's tradition of having the CEO in commercials (they get two paychecks that way. Gulden's joins the fine ranks of KFC (The Colonel) and Wendy's (Dave Thomas). A delightful commercial song about the discount store Rockbottom.
Plus we have the weirdest narrator I've ever heard talk about Mitsubishi before a New York minute commercial just featuring video of some plants. Delightful. There is the famous New York and New Jersey Fords arguing with each other commercial. And my man Rodney Dangerfield for "Carte Blanche". I thought that was just a saying, I didn't' know it was a real thing. Weird.
Special Guest Appearances: Trump (hotel), Cher (I think?), and RODNEY DANGERFIELD.

Molto Mario Pilot "The Pasta Episode" 1996 (5600)
#molto #cookingshow #90s #moltomario #mariobatali #lostmedia #italiancooking #tomatosauce #pasta
It is the pilot episode of Molto Mario (5600). Mario Batali is famous for his Greenwich Village Restaurant, Po. The year is 1996 and the channel is The TV Food Network. Mario is going to teach us Italian cooking. He hates to admit it, but anyone can make these italian dishes.
This episode is all about making fresh pasta at home and what to do with pasta leftovers. Mario comes across as pretty camera shy in this episode. He hadn't really gotten into the flow of things yet as this was the pilot/first episode. I feel like this is a pilot episode given the numbering of "5600". Typically, regular season episodes start with a "1" and not epsiode "0". You'll also note there is no website in the end card, that would come a few episodes into the future. We're going two episodes in the future with the next two episodes released today in the Molto Mario March Triple Header. I'm glad someone recorded this and we could save this little nugget on TV history. Enjoy the show.

Molto Mario First Episode "Mastering Pasta" (1996) 5601
#molto #cookingshow #90s #moltomario #mariobatali #lostmedia #italiancooking #pasta #pastasauce #tomatosauce
Molto Mario: The Food Television Networks Italian Cooking Show. In the pilot we were introduced to pasta and in this episode we're going to be mastering pasta. It's the pillar of the Italian Kitchen, don't you know. And we're looking at ribbon pasta, the most regal of all pastas. It is pretty interesting that Italians link different shapes of pasta to different sauces. My philosophy is that everything goes with everything.
"The Pasta is the dish, the sauce is the condiment, Condimento" -Mario Batali. You can see Mario in his Hot Pants walking around as he shows how to make various italian pasta sauces. Still no website in this episode.

Molto Mario Full Episode "Pasta Sauce: The Essence of Ingredients" (1996) [Season 1]
#molto #cookingshow #90s #moltomario #mariobatali #lostmedia #italiancooking #pasta #pastasauce #tomatosauce
"Hi, I'm Mario Batali, welcome to my new show, Molto Mario. I'm the guy who's going to show you that cooking delicious food is a lot easier than you think." Thanks Molto!
"I cook in the classic Italian tradition. The most important factor is to recognize the flavor and purity of each ingredient"
Mario talks about making a base tomato sauce to use in other dishes. He goes on to talk about how to make tomato sauce stick to your pasta. I can't place exactly when this episode is, but there's no website. The VHS recording cut off before it got to the end card, so I have no idea exactly when this episode aired. I'm guessing after the first couple pasta ones.

Molto Mario "The Mushroom Episode" Season 1 (1996)
#molto #cookingshow #90s #moltomario #mariobatali #lostmedia #italiancooking
In these early episodes of Molto Mario you can see Mario adjusting to being on camera. I'm guessing they were short on production time and couldn't do retakes. He talks about the three ingredients he couldn't cook without: tomatoes, olive oil, and Mushrooms. First we're making a porcini mushroom sauce. Then mushrooms and monkfish, together at last. Finally Molto is making mushrooms and chicken livers.
Molto Mario March concludes with the first, second and PILOT episode of Season 1 dropping Saturday March 30th 2024. Stay Tuned.

TASTE David Rosengarten "How To Make Tiramisu Episode" (1994)
#90stv #90 #cookingshow #taste #davidrosengarten #1994
Our Artichoke friend (https://youtu.be/T2JAZROvg2M) is back, and this time he's using dainty little ladyfingers to make tiramisu. Starts with a store bought tiramisu taste test. I think you can tell the age of the TASTE TV show by the color of apron David Rosengarten is wearing. Red Vest is the earliest episodes. This one is from 1994, but I'm not sure when it started. This guy was super popular in the Food Network. Out of the 90s cooking recordings I have, he's in a ton of them. I like the TASTE set, it's just in a white void, like you're in heaven. Or that episode of Star Trek The Next Generation where Picard died and Q saved him and they were just in a white void.

Molto Mario Full Episode: "Cooking A Roast Leg of Lamb" (Season 1) 1996
In this full episode of Molto Mario, Mario Batali shows us how to make an italian style leg of lamb. We're going to be marinating these gams in italian spices and olive oil, of course. We go from the process of buying the leg of lamb at the butcher: bone, roll, and tie. Then we marinate using olive oil, onions, pepper, rosemary, lemons. Next we're going to add: shallots, pitted prunes, green Sicilian olives, and a cup of white wine to the roasting pan. Next up is cooking guinea fowl. This is the first Motlo episode I've seen that only has two dishes being cooked. Molto March continues with several more 1996 episodes of Molto Mario being released this month. Stay tuned.

Is everyone enjoying Molto March? It's where I post a bunch of lost episodes of the 90's Molto Mario TV show. Today we're talking olive oil grading. It's based on acidity, dontcha know. And they NEVER let an olive hit the ground in Italy. Gives a neat explanation of cold pressed olive oil as well. To test the olive oil you rub it on your wrist, give it a sniff, and give it a lick. We then begin the process of making the south of France dish tapenade. He will use it in some upcoming episodes, or you can simply dip your bread in it. Then it's time to make some Italian BBQ'd chicken. Stay tuned for more full episodes of Molto Mario in Molto March, 2024! "Apples Were Once the Forbidden Fruit" Produce A-Z With Robin Petteta (1996)
I have no idea who this lady is. I'm not even sure I spelled her name right, so if anyone knows, comment below.

Molto Mario Full Episode: "Italian Cheese Desserts" Cooking Show (1996)
Discussing cheese and desserts today with Molto Mario! Parmesan Reggiano, goat cheese, asiago, other italian cheeses I didn't catch the name of. First we're making a mascarpone cheese dessert with strawberries. Then, getting even fancier with robiola cheese, persimmons, and roasted chestnuts. Lastly, we have caciotta cheese, pears, hazelnuts, and chestnut honey. These are some elegant and simple Italian cheese desserts. Thanks Mario Batali for making such a fun cooking show.

Molto Mario "The Olive Episode" Italian Cooking Show (1994)
#molto #90s #cooking #olive #pesto #1994 #cookingshow #lostmedia #italiancooking
Welcome to a lost episode of the Molto Mario cooking show. This show aired on the TV Food Network in 1994. Molto is making green olive pesto (olives, olive oil, garlic, red onion, pine nuts). Next we're cooking up some grilled tuna with roasted peppers and green olives. Lastly we have a goat cheese truffle and winter squash salad. Also, any jarring cuts are because the person who recorded this tried to edit out the commercials with their VCR. Stay tuned for more lost media. You never know what might show up next.

Molto Mario Full Episode: Roasted Sausages, Polenta, and Olive Oil Cake (1996)
My man Molto Mario is cooking in short shorts and clogs. Today we're roasting up some sausages and using our tapenade (the tapenade episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fNg2Sus3QI). Next up some Italian Polenta and to top it all off an olive oil cake with oranges. I'm not sure how I feel about the olive oil cake. This might be the first episode where the website went up. I'm including episode numbers moving forward when available. I believe the first season of Molto Mario Starts with 5601. No idea why they started on such a random number.

1999 Commercials: Nostalgic TNT Cable TV Ads (1 Hour) #90s
This is the longest commercial compilation I've ever put together. That's Joe Bob Briggs on the thumbnail there. Also a CGI fish. These commercials come from the January 1999 broadcast of "Purgatory" and "4 For Texas" on the TNT cable network. This is a long collection, but has some fun ones in it. Featuring Joe Bob Briggs with a special guest appearance by Mike Tyson. You'll also note all of the "10-10-random number" collect commercials. There were many competing brands of collect call companies that used the "10-10" prefix. There are 4 of those and also a 1-800-Collect commercial. So yeah, I think we can say the collect call market was oversaturated. This is only a 1 hour commercial compilation! How many people could possibly need to make collect calls???
I loved Monstervision when I was a kid, so it's good to see Joe Bob Briggs advertising his Super Bowl show. The air crisps commercial with the hand print probably wouldn't be made today, that's a shame. Lot of cruise ads too. We have a cartoon Taz advertising for a Chevy Monte Carlo. You'll notice that all the American cars on here are no longer made, but the Hyundai Sonata is still around with a great reputation. American cars from this time period were money pits. Anyway, let's party like it's 1999 and enjoy these TNT commercials from some old westerns.

Back to the 80s: Unforgettable Commercials of 1985
#80scommercials #80s #tvcommercial #80snostalgia
These are some of my favorite 80's commercials ever. That first one with the Jar-Jar Binks Reese's Pieces commercial is pure gold, baby. He really might be Jar-Jar's inspiration. He's just blubbering gibberish and it's beautiful. What is up with the artistic Nestle Crunch Commercial/Song. Looks like someone went to art school. The best GOYA beans commercial you've ever seen, right here. Keeping with our Star Wars theme, we have a special guest appearance by Lando himself, Billy Dee Williams. And guys, he's doing a little TCB (taking care of business). I hope you enjoy this bit of 1980's nostalgia as much as I do. Stay tuned for more!

80s Cartoon Commercials (Rainbow Brite, He-Man) 1985
Another fun collection of 80s cartoon commercials. Recorded in 1985 during the only season of Rainbow Brite and He-Man. WNEW-TV New York had TV shows from ABC and CBS. They later rebranded to Fox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WNYW). We need to talk about the 3 Musketeers commercial. What did they tell the actor to do? She looks insane! A very memorable commercial for one of the worst candy bars. Milky Way all the way.

October 2001 TV commercials History Channel In search of Haunted Halloween
#2000s #commercial #tvcommercial #2000scommercials #historychannel #2001
Enjoy this collection of October 2001 TV commercials from The Haunted History of Halloween and "In Search of" marathon. In Search Of was hosted by Leonard Nimoy in the 70's and the history channel just bought it from cheap content. Lots of early web 1.0 commercials and very 2000's visuals. I hope you like Y2k aesthetics! This episodes stars Leslie Nielsen for his really funny medicare commercials. They are legitimately very funny. Special guest appearance by Laura Bush for breast cancer awareness. We also have a guest appearance by Rick & Morty President Keith David for a Jazz CD collection. He sounds exactly the same, crazy. I've cleaned up the audio and visuals as best I can, but this was rough copy to begin with. This was a the end of October of 2001 and you already had Sept 11th scammers selling "silver clad coins." Snakes slither fast I guess. This was dated by Laura Bush promo and the 100 Centre St TV promo. October 2001.
Commercials Included:
-Adelphia: The Escaped Zoo Ape Commercial
-1-800 Medicare: This is a really funny commercial with Leslie Nielsen. That many can do some physical comedy and his voice is that of an angel. I thought this was a scam company, but it's from medicare itself.
-Gateway Windows XP Commercial: Narrated by Brain from Pinky and the Brain (Maurice LaMarche)
-America's Library (dot) Gov Commercial: Featuring Paper cutout George Washington
-Crucial Memory Commercial: I know Crucial makes more than memory, but it's crazy they did enough volume to make a commercial just for RAM.
-9/11 Fake Silver Coin: These commercials aired in October 2001 and somehow they got the scam coin ready that fast. "Silver plated" "25 dollar donation" What a sick way to take advantage of the goodwill of Sept. 11. 0/10
-Obnoxious Anti-Drug PSA: The website "weprevent(dot)org" was taken over by someone with a wordpress blog. Here's how it appeared back then: https://web.archive.org/web/20010922144405/http://weprevent.org/
-AT&T Worldnet
-Haunted History of Halloween and "In Search Of' History Channel TV Promos: Love the narrators reading of these promos spooky!
-2001 Subaru Outback Commercial: "Oh no, my Australian Wedding"
-A fun non-lizard Geico commercial
-Pagetime Text Messaging: Just a bellhop singing about a pager. Yep, it's 2001 alright.
-Spooky Capital One Commercial: I mean, it was Halloween time
-Weird Army/WW2/Phillips Best Buy History Channel Crossover commercial
-1-800 Medicare Call Center Commercial
-Jimmy Dean Precooked Sausage: the first half of this commercial is basically a laundry detergent ad. Jimmy looking a bit haggard in this one.
-Just hanging out with the Bros buying Ram Crucial Commercial
-IBM Computers
-Laura Bush Breast Cancer Awareness Month
-Ameritrade
-Ken Burns Jazz CDs: Narrated by the President on Rick and Morty (Keith David who sounds exactly the same 20 years later)
-Classic Christmas Claymation Rudolph and Frosty Commercial: Get the VHS or DVD today!
-Shipwreck Coins Treasure Chest
-1-800 Pet Meds: Hot Ladies Edition
-ZAP!
-College of St. Joseph Rutland, VT
-Amex
-Mexico
-Sprint
-NOW That's What I call Christmas (lot of songs had to get cut, sorry)
-Classic Invent-Tech Commercial
-Leak Ender 2000
-George Bush Collector Coin (They are still selling a Bush coin for 10 dollars as of 2024)
-Zocor
-The Cyclone Rake
-And many, many more.

Magnum P.I. 80's TV Christmas Commercials (December 13th, 1985)
#80scommercials #80s #commercial #jingle #1985 #christmascommercial #retrocommercials #christmas #nyc
Another lovely collection of nostalgic 80's commercials from Junknasium. This tape was a gold mine of 1980's nostalgia. I found 2 completely lost TV shows and one lost episode of Friday Night Videos. The tape was recorded in mid december, 1985. Many other videos came from this tape making them blood brothers.

*Jordache Pants- Pretentious.

How To Boil Water: Mocha Brownies, Bread Pudding, and Flirty Cooking
#90s #cookingshow #lostmedia #howtoboilwater #1995 #90stv #cooking #brownies #breadpudding
Our How To Boil Water friends are making flirty brownies and bread pudding. It looks like Sean was just hired for his looks and Cathy Lowe has to tell him how to do everything. Learn the etymology of "cooking from scratch." They also forget about papyrus. Special Batman cameo in this one.
This is a show called, "How to Boil Water" from the Food Network (FoodTV). They're still making new episodes somehow (IMDB has no end date https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783347/ ). Our friends in this video were Cathy Lowe and Sean Donnellan. Sean is apparently a real actor. So congrats on parlaying this amusing cooking show into a hollywood acting career. This is the fourth lost episode of How To Boil Water I have posted. It's a fun little cooking show who's two main leads have A LOT of romantic chemistry. ❤️

1995 Food Network TV Commercials
#90s #90stv #commercial #1996 #retrocommercials #90scommercials
Welcome to the Food Network in 1996. We're watching How To Boil Water, and these are the commercials on your TV. They're mostly treadmills and cleaning supply. MVP commercial of this compilation is clearly the Geisha Treadmill commercial. I like the little bow she does at the end, to show respect to the Crosswalk Space Saver. I thought this was from 1995, but Equal commercial lists 1996. I guess it was a How To Boil Water rerun.

1985 "Hit City TV Show" The Best Of Urban Contemporary Music Hosted by Warren Epps (Lost Media)
#80s #lostmedia #urban #gospel #1980smusic #80smusic #80shiphop #80stv
With the best of urban contemporary music, this is Hit City brought to you by Pro-Line health products, makers of Soft and Beautiful. Here's your Host Warren Epps: We're going to describe this Hit City with the following objectives: go-go, funky, sexy, gospel; sound interesting? This also includes all the great 80's commercials everyone loves.
There is absolutely nothing on this TV show. I can only find random people named Warren Epps, so I have no idea who he is and why he's hosting a go-go, sexy, gospel, funky show. It's crazy how TV shows can just fall through the cracks like that. That's what I like about going through old VHS tapes, you never know what you might find. If this wasn't posted, the whole show would have disappeared forever.
