Mondaire Jones: My Priorities Will Be Abortion Rights, Border Security, Ban Assault Weapons, and Improve Healthcare
RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
CAPEHART: “In less than a minute Congressman Mondaire Jones, if you win back the seat against Congressman Mike Lawlor, what is your first priority?”
Jones: “The first priority has to be making sure that we codify Roe v. Wade and rescue our democracy. We are staring at a situation right now where there is not a democratic majority in January, Republicans may not certify a Joe Biden victory. It is just really important that we have adults in the room in the majority, unlike the chaos, extremism, and incompetence, that we’ve seen. But we have to do more than that, Jonathan. We, of course, have to secure our border. We, of course, have to make sure that we are banning assault weapons so that kids can stop getting gunned down in schools around the country, and we have to continue to lower the cost of prescription drugs and healthcare, which is something I’m very passionate about, as someone who watched his grandmother work past the age of retirement just to pay for the high cost of prescription drugs.”

Hakeem Jeffries: ‘If Roe V. Wade Can Fall...Democracy Itself Can Fall’
O’DONNELL: “How big of an issue will abortion rights be this election year=”
Jeffries: “It’s gonna be an incredibly significant issue. Because on it’s own, it’s about freedom, and the extreme MAGA Republicans have set in motion the erosion of reproductive freedom. We’re going to fight for it with every thing that we’ve got at our disposal. If Roe v. Wade can fall, anything can fall. Social Security can fall. Medicare can fall. Voting rights can fall. And God help us all, but democracy itself in full. If Roe v. Wade can fall, then anything can fall. (...) Every single thing that we care about is on the ballot in November.”

LORENZ: “They don’t have freedoms in Texas, in Florida. Does that mean we should go bomb Texas. That’s an absurd — ”
LEMON: “I understand that, but, Taylor — Taylor, I’m a member of the LGBTQ community. If I go to Texas, they’re not going to throw me off a roof.”

At Fla. Dem Leadership Event, Rick Wilson Makes the Case the State Is in Play for Biden Because of Abortion
Wilson: “But there is light on the horizon. There is a break in the storm. They still have a lot of money, but they are a fundamentally broken party. There are a lot of Republicans out there who are — who are struggling with one of the biggest issues that — one of the biggest mistakes the Republicans have made in a long time. Now, whether you are pro-choice or pro-life or anti-abortion or pro-abortion, however you want to phrase it or look at it or think about it, between 22 and 28 percent of Republican women are pro-choice.”

You so it is and has been taking place at ucla and all over the country. Destroying our educational system the idea of the attorney general says nothing for nothing effective. The president of the United States and blurts out a few comments but nothing effective. Nobody is directing the federal government to address what is taking place in this country. We have never seen anti-Semitism, Jew hatred in America like we have seen before. What you make of this?”

They are playing politics let me mention something I’m sure you know title vi civil rights act I’m old enough to remember when black kids were protected by the federal government in the 50s and 60s. Joe Biden has abandoned Jewish Americans throughout this country. Jewish Americans deserve the same detection as any American citizen in this country but he is playing Michigan politics how dare they allow these criminals to dominate these universities and then be released on the street? Where are the federal chargers? Where is the department of education? Cut off their funds. Cut off every nickel and dime of federal taxpayer dollars to these Ivy League schools and colleges that promote Hamas and the Palestinians over there. Where’s the FBI investigation? Where is Merrick Garland? Or is the power of the federal government where the federal marshals to escort Jewish American kids to school? Nothing. The federal government Joe Biden have given these terrorists the green light to attack, harm, damage, and denied Jewish Americans to exist in this country. It is embarrassing and shameful.”

It‘s tragic, it‘s terrible. And I‘ll also say, what was she thinking and all of this, I mean, apparently she said she met Kim Jong Un at a certain point and that‘s been shown to be like fantasy, like who, fact check this book that is, I think what comes to the fore of this? DANIELS: “You know, this – we all know the absurdity, the complete futility for one thing even if it were an appropriate policy to desert an ally and a democratic country. This wouldn’t with do any good. So we didn’t a lot of time on that. We didn’t have too much of that. The so-called demands tend to focus more on on-campus policies. Biden Deputy Campaign Manager Says Biden Will Shorten His Speeches: ‘Our Campaign Believes in Quality over Quantity’

Steele: “As you are expanding the argument, we have news from NBC News that the campaign is trying to shorten speeches, less is more. Shorter and crisper speeches. I think that is a very smart idea. For everyone. I appreciate that approach. It is a way for the president to hit with clarity and stick his points and move on and not get lost toes about the scene setting around their and trying to reimagine the campaign going forward with what you just said. This idea of the president tightening his grip on the speeches.”

These touches and smaller things getting directly to the point of what is going on in this election are going to be easier for voters to tap into and also to go out and say and talk to their friends and family about what is at stake. Those are some simple things that we can say. Donald Trump is responsible for the fact that one in three women are living in an abortion ban. We’ve got to remove the clutter. Voters are tuning in. CONWAY: “Yeah, I mean, look, it was obviously her testimony was that this was just a major major event. And if we all remember that weekend when the Access Hollywood tape dropped, I mean, as Hope Hicks testified, there was a hurricane that weekend and nobody covered the hurricane. And there was absolutely every reason to believe that any further stories about Trump‘s behavior with respect to women would be harmful to Trump and that‘s the reason why. AOC Explains How and Why Roads, Bridges and Communities Were Designed To Be Racist: ‘There Is a Psychic Weight’
Ocasio-Cortez: “There is a psychic weight to living in communities that are designed to be disconnected. It affects your social life. My neighborhood that I’m from, in The Bronx and Parkchester, we have some of the longest commutes in all of New York City. It is a commute not just to work, it is a commute to do anything. It is a commute to connect socially. It is a commute to connect spiritually. These decisions are designed to disconnect, disempower and isolate people. And when you layer that with a lot of Robert Moses’ racist intent to very much do so to a very specific kind of people, black, brown, low income, poor, etc., you can really see how it actually builds in organizing challenges to communities who actually want to empower themselves.”

John Leguizamo: Univision Has Been ‘Insidious’ at Pushing Trump to Spanish-Speaking only Latinos
COLBERT: “You also wrote this in the Los Angeles Times recently, this was in November. You wrote this opinion piece there, it says ‘Cozying up to Trump, Univision is betraying its Spanish-speaking viewers.’ How so?”
LEGUIZAMO: “Well, it’s kind of insidious because Spanish-speaking-only Latinos watch Univision and that’s where they get all their news and information. So, you should be impartial. You should be non-partisan. And they are not. It’s problematic to me.”
COLBERT: “Are they right-wing in some way?”
LEGUIZAMO: “Well, I have spoken off the record with some of the newscasters and they said that they were leaning — they were pushing them right way and they had Trump on. They softballed the whole questions. They wouldn’t allow Biden commercials on. Then they didn’t have Biden on for a long, long time. So I had to call them out on it. I called them out and their marketing people called me back.”
COLBERT: “What did they say?
LEGUIZAMO: “They said, ‘It’s not true. You know, we are not really — we are doing every thing we can to be nonpartisan.’ But I’m like, ‘Yo, how are you doing all these things that are not — that are leaning very MAGA?’ You need to be non-partial, otherwise I’m going to call you out again. So, I won’t be on Univision. I won’t be — they have the highest-rated Spanish language show. So I won’t be on ‘La flaca de gorda.’”
(Laughter)
COLBERT: “That’s too bad.”
LEGUIZAMO: “For them.”

Jared Bernstein Struggles to Explain Why We Don’t Just Print All of the Money the Government Uses
BERNSTEIN: “The U.S. government can’t go bankrupt because we can print our own money.”
UNKNOWN: “It obviously begs the question, why exactly are we borrowing in a currency that we print ourselves? I’m waiting for someone to stand up and say, ‘Why do we borrow our own currency in the first place?’
Reporter: “Like you said, they print the dollar. So why does the government even borrow?”
BERNSTEIN: “Well, um, the, uh — so the, I mean, again — some of this stuff gets — some of the language that the MM — some of the language and concepts are just confusing. I mean, the government definitely prints money and it definitely lends that money. Which is why — the government definitely prints money and then it lends that money by — by selling bonds. Is that what they do? They — they — yeah, they — they — they sell bonds. Yeah, they sell bonds, right? Since they sell bonds and people buy the bonds and lend them the money. Yeah, so a lot of times — a lot of times, at least to my ear, with MMT, the language and the concepts can be kind of unnecessarily confusing, but there is no question that the government prints money and then it uses that money to um — so, um, yeah, I guess I’m just — I can’t really talk. I don’t get it. I don’t know what they’re talking about, like, ‘cause it’s like, the government clearly prints money, it does it all the time, and it clearly borrows. Otherwise we wouldn’t be having this debt and deficit conversation. So I don’t think there’s anything confusing there.”

DeSantis on Trump Meeting: A Lot of it Was Just Connecting About Things, It’s Important We Win in November
RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
>> Hannity: let me ask you about your recent meeting with President Trump which I was glad to see to be very honest from the very beginning and I had said it often, publicly that I did not like the contentious battle that had emerged between two former friends and allies. I didn’t like it one bit. I’m glad they both got together, whatever you feel like sharing, share. I’m sure there’s probably part of it that was confidential between the two of you.
>> I mean back in January I endorsed him. I think it’s really important that we win this election and I reiterated that to him. We are going to be active in a variety of capacities throughout the rest of the year to help not just the top ticket but all around the country and particularly in Florida with some of the key issues we have to deal with. A lot of it was connecting about things. He has a kid going to college, I’m a dad I’ve got three young kids in the household. He’s concerned about how my wife is doing. Cancer scare a couple of years ago. It was just a good meeting and a good conversation. He understands the importance of this election, he understands the damage that Biden is doing and I think you would see 180-degree different policies if we are able to win in November which is important that we do.

George Conway on Trump Disputing He’s Sleeping in Court: ‘So Perfect Donald Trump’
RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
>> We have to take a break in a moment, but I have been wondering all day what you thought of this Trump post where he is is — he said contrary to the fake news media I don’t fall asleep during the crooked d.a.s witchhunt. I simply close my beautiful blue eyes, sometimes, listen intently, and take it all in. George Conway.
>> That is perfect Donald Trump. His reputation has been in the past that he is sleepy Donald. I’ve talked to people who wrote books about him back in the day and he never showed up at Trump Tower before 11:00 A.M. And we know what he did at the White House. He was not there in the morning. He was not an early riser to read his important briefing books. This is rough on him. He has to get up every morning. He is not free to fly around the country like we are and the people on the telephone commercials.
>> There is that for a reason.

He was not on the U.S. terror watchlist and he was released into the U.S., two sources tell us. Jayapal: GOP Weaponizing Antisemitism by Bringing up Bills We’ll Vote Against
WAGNER: “Joining me now is Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Democrat from the great state of Washington and chair of the House Progressive Caucus. Congresswoman Jayapal, thanks for joining me and helping me understand what exactly went down in the House today. I mean, my first question is, the language of this bill and why it was so broad. Do you have a sort of a thesis as to why the scope was so large?”
Jayapal: “Yeah, Alex, I do, and that is that, unfortunately, I think Republicans are trying to weaponize anti-Semitism. They want to bring bills to the floor that actually divide Democrats. And what we really need to do if we want to tackle anti-Semitism, which I believe every Democrat does want to do, and many Republicans, we would do — we would bring a bipartisan bill and we would have a whole-of-government approach that involves educating people about what anti-Semitism is and what it isn’t, and making sure that we are all speaking with one voice. I think it’s incredibly hurtful to the cause of eliminating anti-Semitism for Republicans to weaponize it and to be hypocrites about bringing forward something that is for pure political gain, not about fighting anti-Semitism. So that’s why I think they brought this bill, because they knew that it would not get full Democratic support because it doesn’t get full support from the Jewish community. It doesn’t get full support from people who have looked at this issue and said, ‘We have to be very careful about how we define this.’ And especially, by the way, this is being targeted and tied to educational funds that go to colleges, so it has incredibly important ramifications.”
WAGNER: “Well, and sort of a dual-pronged attack both on Democrats and liberal institutions of higher education.”
