The father saw his son returning from a far-off distance and immediately had compassion for him. Instead of waiting, he raced to meet his son, seized him and embraced him: “When he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him” (Luke 15:20 NKJV). My Bulgarian bible actually says the father fell on his neck and 'smothered him with kisses.' This wording "fell on" is the same wording used to describe the Holy Spirit "falling on the people" in the book of Acts (see Acts 10:44 and 11:15). By pouring out His Spirit, our heavenly Father sealed us in an embrace as His sons and daughters. So many prodigals are ready to come home and need to realize that God is waiting for them with joy. He has prepared an embrace and a party, not a rebuke.

Now more than ever, understanding the goodness of our Heavenly Father is essential. We've been called to feast at His table, free from fear. We cannot afford to hold onto any thoughts our Heavenly Daddy does not have toward us. By remaining in this place of union with Him, our life becomes an expression of peace, power, and answered prayer. In addition to looking at the polls, we can also track what’s happening right before the mid-terms by taking a look at how the parties are spending their money. In many cases they are redirecting it from one state to another. We know that in a tight race, money would not be taken away, and so we can draw some conclusions. Great advice from Pastor Dave Hess of Christ Community Church, Camp Hill, PA: Four keys to understanding the Church's posture concerning Government, politics, elections, speaking up, etc.: 1) The difference between "Honoring Authority" vs. "Obedience to God." 2) Why do some say, "Just preach the Gospel; stay in your Lane." 3) "Establish justice in the Gates." 4) The difference between a "political spirit" and "government."

How many remember this moment from October 14th? What we are going through right now as a nation is the Lord’s way of waking up His church. We are called to speak truth in the face of evil, with courage. The worst thing we could do is to remain silent... faith without works is dead. There is a parallel between what happened in 1930s Germany with the rise of the Nazis and what is happening today. (Bonhoeffer told the church to stand against the evil, but the church said, we don’t want to get political and remained silent. This silence opened the door to satanic evil taking over Europe.)
