Revisit a classic of a game with its large number of bullets covering the screen, its easy concept, even for beginners, and its unique balance. In this video, I compare the Sega Saturn game (using a Hyperkin HDMI adapter), the Sega Saturn game on the MiSTer FPGA core and the game ported by City Connection for the Nintendo Switch. "SILPHEED" is a vertical scrolling 3D shooter game released by GAMEARTS in 1986. The player boards the air fighter SA-08 SILPHEED and sets out to crush the insurgency. The Sega CD port is an enhanced version of the game. In this video, I show both. The game's story concerns a space war campaign when terrorists—led by a man named Xacalite—hack into the mother computer of Earth, granting them control over all the space weaponry of the solar system. The Earth's only hope is a small fleet outside the computer's reach, provided with a squadron of SA-77 Silpheed dogfighters (referred to as "prototypes" in the manual for the PC version).
