Bellwether Blues: The Millennial Soul and School Board Member Training
Dr. Kelly Kohls teaches School Board Member Training. Why has public education been so widely criticized in the last 10 years? Learn why and how we know public education is failing us both academically and financially and how it can be fixed. Is the teachers union in full control of public education and if so what this means for your students, parents, community and country.
Jonathan Jakubowski explains why Millennials are leaving the Left, why that matters, and how conservatives can embrace them. Faith, family, freedom. These three pillars are interdependent in the American experiment. These timeless principles represent the reason for this book. With so many wonderful sources of literature discussing these ideals, one must ask, why is this book worthy of my time? Naturally, before spending countless hours writing, Jon had to ask himself the same question. It was upon the recognition of my unique location, living in Wood County, Ohio, a “Swing County”, that I knew that I had struck gold. Through a compilation of seven stories of Millennials in Swing County America, who swung from Obama to Trump, this work revives the importance of these timeless ideals of faith, family, and freedom in the electoral context.

Homeschooling 101
Have you been considering homeschooling; wondering what it would take to be successful? Starting to think you have no choice? Sign up for this two hour class, and hear from someone who has done it. The overriding goal of homeschooling is to seed and encourage a curiosity that inspires life-long learning; an appreciation of the good, the beautiful and true, that through logic and reason, enables a free-thinking society that values logical and rational discourse.
You can homeschool your child, so everyone considering the lifestyle can benefit from this class. The statistics on homeschooling have crushed most of the myths about the community, and we will certainly cover those, but at the end of the day, the most successful children have involved and engaged parents that have those important discussions at the dinner table…it’s just a matter of how many of those you need to “undo” before you have them. Like the profession of teaching, today’s homeschooling community is comprised of two groups: those who homeschool as a calling, and those who homeschool as a refuge or alternative schedule. Neither is right/wrong, good/bad, but why you homeschool may dictate the initial part of the journey. Toward that end, this class will cover “Myth-busting,” how to be “Legal” in Ohio, “Curricula,” and other areas about which people usually ask such as “Sports/Extra Curriculars.”

American Marxism: Mark Levin's Book and a Talk About Wage and Price Controls
50 Years ago in August 1971, President Richard Nixon imposed Wage and Price Controls on the United States. Not since the 1970’s, has inflation increased as fast as it is in the United States now. Inflation and shortages persisted during much of the 1970’s when inflation reached a high level 14.8% in March 1980 . With the Producer Price Index today up 8.28% from one year ago, 9 out of 10 Americans say they are concerned. Managing Board Member Dan Regenold will discuss Wage and Price Controls. How much of a problem is inflation? Is it likely that wage and price controls could be imposed by the Biden administration? What has the history of controls been? What do the experts say?
Today’s version of this tactic in use by the American Left goes “Either you agree that all the systems of American life and government are systemically racist and evil and ought to be torn down, or you support racism and evil.” It is exactly this type of false binary choice that is a tool of the Marxist movement to enforce conformity across their political objectives. In his book, Levin exposes tactics like this as well as the institutions, intellectuals, and activists who are leading this Marxist revolution, and he provides some answers and ideas on how to confront them.
Levin ends the book addressing the reader directly saying “In the end, it is up to you to decide how best to help actively save our republic and what role you will choose…. While this is the end of the book, it is the beginning of a new day.” The backlash to the American Marxist revolution is here, and this book is a guide for patriotic Americans, informing us as to how we can be most effective in defeating the Marxist movement. This is a very important book, and it comes at exactly the right time.

Make your Backyard Birds Your Backyard Buddies and a Talk from Tom Hagedorn
Tom Hagedorn as he talks about American Education and its Takeover by International Socialism. International socialism began its nearly complete “long march” through every major American institution over one hundred years ago. Education was a prime early target. They knew that Abraham Lincoln was right when he said, “the philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.” The leader of this sinister mission was John Dewey, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, who is widely recognized as the Father of American Education. This class will take you on a quick tour of the persistent war waged by American Marxist educators since the 1920s, when Dewey came back from a tour sponsored by Stalin’s Russia to write glowing reports of conditions in the Soviet Union. Dewey and other socialists hatched their plans in the 1930s at Columbia University and started to recruit followers at the highest levels of American education. You will learn how their plans were methodically implemented and fine-tuned over every generation since then, into what is known today as progressive education. This system, intended only for a socialist America, has dominated education in public, private, and even religious schools for some time.
WHO ARE OUR BACKYARD BIRDS? HOW CAN I ATTRACT THEM TO MY BACKYARD? Prepare for the Digital Dollar
Move over Bitcoin The Federal Reserve is taking what may be the first significant step toward launching its own virtual currency, a move that could shake up banks, give millions of low-income Americans access to the financial system and fortify the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. The idea of creating a fully digital version of the U.S. dollar, which was unthinkable just a few years ago, has gained bipartisan interest from lawmakers as diverse as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and John Kennedy (R-La.) The explosive rise of private crypto currencies in recent years motivated the Fed to start considering a digital dollar to be used alongside the traditional paper currency. Although crypto currencies like bitcoin are digital, a Central Bank Digital Currency would be fundamentally different from current cryptos because it would still be controlled by a central bank rather than a decentralized computer network.
Coinbase, maybe you’ve never heard of it. Or, maybe you’re confused about what it even is. A quick explanation: Coinbase is an app that lets you buy and sell all sorts of cryptocurrencies. You can also use Coinbase to convert one cryptocurrency to another, or to send and receive cryptocurrency to and from other people. Coinbase also shows you the current price and trends for cryptocurrencies, a look at your portfolio of holdings, and news stories about the industry. China’s central bank is rolling out its own digital yuan as it cracks down on the mining and usage of crytocurrencies within its border.
Barb Horwitz speaks on Civil Disobedience. Remember the sit-ins at segregated lunch counters in the South in the early 60s? Remember the flag burnings to protest the Vietnam War? And more recently, think about Edward Snowden’s release of highly classified NSA documents to bring public awareness of the government’s unconstitutional surveillance practices and infringement of civil liberties. These are examples of civil disobedience, which is the active, non-violent refusal to accept the dictates of governments. It’s a grass roots form of action when traditional methods of protest such as petitioning, lobbying, marching, and voting have failed to get a response from the government. It came to public attention in the mid-1800s through the work of the famous American philosopher, Henry David Thoreau, and achieved its greatest recognition when Martin Luther King used practical methods to implement it during the fight for civil rights in the 1960s. We’ll take a look at Thoreau’s and King’s thoughts about it tonight, and see what insights they can give us today to meaningfully react to and protest current governmental policies.

Heritage Foundation on History of Critical Race Theory
Critical race theory (CRT) is a descendent of critical theory (CT), a school of philosophy that began in Frankfurt, Germany, in the 1920s and 1930s at the University of Frankfurt’s Institute for Social Research. It became known as “the Frankfurt School” and was one of the first, if not the first, Western Marxist schools patterned after the Marx–Engels Institute in Moscow. The Frankfurt School’s scholars fled to Columbia University’s Teachers College in New York in 1934 to escape persecution by the Nazis, and were careful to erase the word Marxism from their research papers so as not to attract attention in America. Critical theory was, from the start, an unremitting attack on Western institutions and norms in order to tear them down.
When followed to its logical conclusion, CRT is destructive and rejects the fundamental ideas on which our constitutional republic is based. Applying the philosophy would violate a multitude of American civil rights laws by treating people differently according to race. This presentation will dive into the history and origins of critical theory, critical legal theory and critical race theory, how Americans can identify it, and how we can fight back against this destructive ideology.

What are the civil and criminal legal options available to you?

House Bill 248, the Vaccine Choice and Anti-Discrimination Act, authored by Representative Gross who is joined by fifteen co-sponsors in the Ohio House from across the state. This bill would prohibit the imposition of a “vaccine mandate” and carrying a “vaccine passport” in order for Ohioans to work, exercise or enter public buildings. How to destroy America in 3 Easy Steps
EmpowerU Managing Board Member Dan Regenold discusses America and Ben Shapiro’s new, best-selling book How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps. A growing number of Americans want to tear down what has taken us 250 years to build. We are starting to see this destruction of America in the canceling of our shared history, our ideas and our culture. Violence is in our streets is erupting in the bigger cities.
In front of our very eyes, traditional areas of civic agreement are vanishing. We cannot agree what makes America special, or if it is special. The 1619 project, which looks at America through the lens of being racist and corrupt is starting to be taught to our kids as history instead of the history of America’s founding that you learned growing up.
Could America be radically transformed over the next decade? Could our incredible Country become something we don’t even recognize? Learn about the Disintegrationists and their attack on values that have built our nation. Ben Shapiro is an American conservative political commentator, media host and attorney. At 17, he became the youngest national syndicated columnist in the United States. He founded The Daily Wire and he is now the host of The Ben Shapiro Show. PPP Loan Forgiveness–Finney Law Firm Discusses the Rules
Several weeks ago, Finney Law Firm (FLF) did a webinar for EmpowerU on the relief offered to small business and self-employed under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). One of the main focuses of that webinar was the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which offers forgivable loans to small businesses. Since that time, over 4.5 million companies have received PPP loans totaling over $510 Billion. And, approximately $100 Billion in funding for PPP loans remains unused.
If you are one of the small businesses or self-employed that received a PPP loan (or if you are considering applying for one), you’ve likely been wrestling with questions on how to make sure your loan is forgiven. The SBA has now provided significant additional guidance on PPP loan forgiveness, including, for example:
New rules on what payroll counts toward forgiveness
New rules on what you can spend PPP funds on other than payroll
New rules on when you must spend PPP funds
How you calculate your reduction in loan forgiveness if you decrease employees and/or compensation (including safe harbors that help preserve PPP forgiveness)
And, Congress is considering changing the rules to allow more time and flexibility in spending the funds. In this webinar, FLF will outline these new rules and the potential changes, and how to maximize your PPP loan forgiveness.
Even for small businesses that received a PPP loan, that loan is likely not the only assistance needed to survive and thrive in this changing economy. One of the lessons learned over the last several weeks is that the economic impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic are likely longer lasting and more far reaching than we originally imagined. Recognizing this reality, FLF has launched a Small Business Solutions Group, https://finneylawfirm.com/practice-areas/small-business-solutions-group/
Tuesday, June 9, the presenters will explain the the importance of how to get your PPP Loan forgiven by your financial institution and the SBA. If you have a PPP Loan don’t miss this class.

Why is the US now more in control of the international economy and financial system than ever before?

Policy Solutions for the Pandemic / Preparing Your Finances In the Midst of Economic Uncertainty
Double Header with Greg Lawson and Jonathan Dever
The Buckeye Institute is an independent research and education think tank whose mission is to advance free-market public policy in the states. Buckeye has been totally out front on the Pandemic and written several policy positions on Solutions for the Pandemic.
In this uncertain time, being prepared for the unknown is vital to your family’s long term financial well being. Jonathan Dever founded his law firm in 2002 as our nation was recovering from the September 11 attacks. He quickly realized that he was able to use hsi legal know-how to help families and small business owners facing difficult financial and emotional circumstances.
Once the Great Recession began five years later, he took what he had learned from these experiences to help out consumers and businesses at the height of that crisis. This meant defending homeowners, fighting foreclosures, and helping business owners maintain their livelihood without filing for bankruptcy.
Today, we find ourselves in uncertain economic times. Businesses are being shuttered by the government without any real assurance of when this will end. Many workers have been sent home without paychecks. Funds that were saved for rainy days must now outlast a 100-year flood. And we don’t know for certain how long this process will last. More disconcerting, money promised for small businesses hasn’t arrived.

Significant Relief for Business Owners and Self Employed in the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis
Attorneys Chris Finney and Rebecca Heimlich of the Finney Law Firm will present "Significant Relief for Business Owners and Self-Employed in the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis." So many businessmen and women who have built the businesses for years and decades have watched their investments become imperiled as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis, and in many cases the government mandates relating to it.
As a result, an unprecedented millions of Americans have been furloughed or laid off because the businesses no longer have the money to keep them employed. On Friday Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which includes the Paycheck Protection Program to provide funds to businesses and the self-employed to keep the wheels of commerce turning and allow those businesses to bring back the loyal employees that allow it to exist and grow. The presenters will explain the act and how businesses owners can quickly access the funds to avoid insolvency.

The Secure Act and Your Retirement
The "Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act" of 2019, better known as the SECURE Act, which originally passed the House in July, was signed into law on December 20 by President Donald Trump.
The SECURE Act will make it easier for small business owners to set up "safe harbor" retirement plans that are less expensive and easier to administer. Many part-time workers will be eligible to participate in an employer retirement plan.
The Act pushes back the age at which retirement plan participants need to take required minimum distributions (RMDs), from 70½ to 72, and allows traditional IRA owners to keep making contributions indefinitely.
The Act mandates that most non-spouses inheriting IRAs take distributions that end up emptying the account in 10 years, and The Act allows 401(k) plans to offer annuities.
The landscape for building wealth in retirement plans and IRAs has changed dramatically after the SECURE Act passed. Individuals need to balance their personal needs with what they desire to pass on to children and future generations in an asset protected manner.
An important change to many is the removal of a provision known as the Stretch IRA, which has allowed non-spouses (your children) inheriting retirement accounts to stretch out disbursements over their lifetimes. The new rules will require a full payout from the inherited IRA within 10 years of the death of the original account holder, raising an estimated $15.7 billion in additional tax revenue. (This will apply only to heirs of account holders who die starting in 2020.)
It doesn't matter how much money you have, what matters is how you can pass it on to your beneficiaries. Suggestions will be made as to amendments to Revocable Trusts and the efficient, asset protected building of ROTH IRA assets.

Privacy Under Attack with Dave Hatter
Surveillance capitalism is the business model that fuels tech titans such as Google and Facebook. Anyone with an Internet connection can read the latest news, listen to their favorite music, chat with friends, search for anything online, shop, pay bills, play games, and watch videos, all for “free”. But it’s not really free. If you’re not paying with money, you’re paying with data. You’re not the customer, you’re the product. Companies like Google and Facebook harvest every little bit of data that they can get their hands on, and monetize it in a variety of ways including selling it to other companies, who may or may not secure it correctly. And the now ubiquitous nature of the Internet coupled with the ever increasing number of “smart” devices that we interact with are collecting volumes of very detailed information about how and where we live, work and play 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s relentless and pervasive and in many cases, not obvious. Americans are sleepwalking into a future nearly as frightening as the one the Chinese are constructing”.
At this session, Dave Hatter will explore: The type of data that is being collected, how it’s being collected, how it’s being used, how it’s being misused, why you should care about improving ur privacy, and tools and techniques to limit your digital footprint.

Sorta Issue 7 Taxy Levy in Cincinnati, Ohio
This important session of EmpowerU covers Sorta Issue 7, and the proposed sales tax increase that will appear on Hamilton County ballots during Ohio’s March 17, 2020 primary election. This proposal, put directly on the ballot by Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, will ask voters to raise the sales tax by 0.8 percent in order to increase funding for Cincinnati Metro bus service as well as for road and bridge improvements.
Sorta is currently funded at a rate of about $50 Million by the City of Cincinnati’s earnings tax. Issue 7, would make the City Earnings Tax be reduced from 2.1% to 1.8% and fund Sorta completely with a countywide sales tax levy. This levy would raise about $100 million a year for the busy system, plus another $30 million a year for roads and bridges, with the infrastructure portion of the sales tax. The levy would go for 25 years which would make this levy the largest levy ever, at a total of $3.20 billion (about 5 times the total cost of Paul Brown Stadium and The Great American Ballpark).
25% of the proceeds of the levy will be used for public infrastructure projects, like building or maintaining roads or bridges, 75% of the levy will provide general revenues for operating the Metro transportation system. Sorta hopes to add new bus routes to better align them with job centers in suburban Hamilton County. On major routes, there will be a bus every 15 minutes. Some buses will run 24 hours a day. More crosstown service and more weekend service will be added. Hamilton County’s Integrating Committee will oversee the spending of the infrastructure portion of the levy.

75th Anniversary: The Strategy of D-Day ( Part Two)
The Details Behind the Largest Seaborne Invasion in History! 75 Years ago, on this Day, June 6, 1944, the Normandy Landings began on the beaches of Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, Sword. Operation code-name “Overlord” began on Tuesday, June 6, 1944 and it was the largest seaborne invasion in history. It became known as D-Day-the goal to liberate German-occupied France from Nazi control and lay the foundation for an Allied Victory on the Western Front throughout Europe.
The biggest names in history were all involved in this planning– Prime Minister Winston Churchill, General Dwight David Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin of Russia, General Bernard Montgomery commander of British Forces. Leading the German forces was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, The Desert Fox. Commanding Rommel was Adolf Hitler leader of the Nazi Party. Hitler rose to power to become dictator of Germany, serving as Chancellor from 1933 and Führer from 1934. During his dictatorship from 1933 to 1945, he initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland in September 1939.
The amphibious landings on Normandy were preceded by extensive aerial and naval bombardment and an airborne assault-the landing of 24,000 US, British, and Canadian airborne troops shortly after midnight. Allied infantry and armoured divisions began landing on the coast of France at 06:30 am. Planning for the operation had begun in 1943.
