Found out late one night that some deliveries had arrived earlier that day. Darla helped out by joining me for the long dark walk to our mailbox and carrying a package back to our house. Go Darla!

Duck showed up on July 22nd. Figured it was a neighbor’s duck but nobody seems to care. Now we’re leaning more towards it being a duck dumping, so why not make friends? www.dogmata.info

Darla “grabs” a sign that was blown into the water after a storm, saving me the trouble of having to get wet. She completes the task, but being a dogo, accidentally takes a chunk out of the sign. Oh well, it just serves as an extra warning to any trespassers! www.dogmata.info

Our veterinary clinic, Critter Care in Panama City, FL is equipped with a state-of-the-art CT scan. When Libby was surrendered to them after a Labrador Retriever fractured her skull as a puppy, a CT scan was performed to fully evaluate the degree of trauma. Libby was prescribed sedatives for about a week, long enough for the swelling to decrease, and pain meds. When we brought Libby home at 8 weeks, we treated her the same as any other puppy, hoping for the best when it came to her healing and potential after effects. After one year, Libby returned for another CT scan (and to be spayed). This scan revealed Libby's skull was pushed back into place as she grew and actually fused back together. In human remains detection, bone is one of the most difficult sources to obtain for training. Robert has acquired only a few samples over the last decade or so. Fortunately, I stumbled upon JonsBones.com which supplies responsibly sourced real human bones for educational and training purposes. Introducing Kleine Schlampe Lena von Dogmata! Otherwise known as Lena. Born on 10/10/22, we brought her home on the afternoon of December 3rd. By the early morning of December 4th, she was walking two miles to church and back.

Reef wanted a job, so we started training him for one. This is the beginning of his training towards Human Remains Detection (HRD), which starts by associating the target scent with positivity and a unique command. More videos to come of his progress! www.dogmata.info
