Meet: Juanita Haney: Candidate(r) for La Porte County Treasurer
Join us April 16th, 2024 at 7PM Central to meet Juanita Haney, who is running for La Porte County Treasurer in the 2024 Republican Primary.
This will be Juanita's first foray into politics, though she IS somewhat familiar with the swamp here in La Porte County. Her husband, current Commissioner Joe Haney, has frequently been the target of those who want "business as usual" (aka corruption) to continue without the scrutiny that Commissioner Haney brings.
We know her husband is pretty awesome, but what about Juanita herself?
We'll be sitting down with her to have a real conversation about her, her background, and why she's running for this office.
We ask all of our guests to provide us with a bio, and this is what we were sent:
"Juanita Haney is not your typical candidate—she's a dynamic wife of 22 years and a dedicated mother of three daughters, ages 26, 19, and 17. Hailing from a vibrant upbringing on a sugar farm in south Florida, Juanita's journey led her to Indiana after college, where she immersed herself in the fast-paced world of the University of Chicago's transplant team and various hospitals in Northwest Indiana. After years of impactful work, Juanita decided to embrace a new challenge: homeschooling her daughters full time.
Beyond her professional and family life, Juanita is a fierce advocate for animal rights and a lifelong learner. Her interests span from reading to crafting 3D paper art, collecting dolls, and even marksmanship. Juanita's zest for life is evident in her eagerness to travel, try new things, and tackle challenges head-on. As a candidate for LaPorte County Treasurer, Juanita brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and a love for adventure to the table."
(End Bio)
If you have any questions you'd like us to ask Juanita Haney, tune in live or email Talk@DionBergeron.com and we will do our best to make sure we get to them.

Meet Commissioner Joe Haney, District 3 La Porte County Indiana
Join us at 7PM on April 9th for an in-depth discussion with Commissioner Joe Haney. Commissioner Haney is in his 4th year of his first term, and is up for re-election this year. He has accomplished a LOT during this, and we'll get a chance to learn all about that, along with his plans for his next term, once re-elected.
Joe has been at the forefront of several "controversies", butting heads with his fellow commissioners and others.
A troublemaker to some, a freedom-loving patriot to others, Commissioner Haney is no stranger to critiques.
Often described as a "problem child" or "wave maker" by those that prefer a quiet, if a bit corrupt, government, Joe Haney has never been one to allow malfeasance or outright criminal behavior to fester under his watch. He calls out the issues he sees and works towards their resolution.
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio, and this is what we were sent:
"Commissioner Joe Haney was sworn in to his first elected office as La Porte County Commissioner in 2021. He currently serves as the District 3 Commissioner. Joe also serves on County boards such as the Parks Board and others.
Joe is active in his community and has spent his adult life volunteering his time and talents, from serving as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT to volunteering at homeless shelters, animal rescue groups, and more. 2020 was Joe’s first run for an elected office and this is his first time serving as an elected official, he has spent the rest of his adult life in the private sector.
Joe is a former clinician having worked in the surgical suites on a level one trauma team, transplant team, and as an operations manager for a total of nearly 20 years on the definitive side of health care. Joe currently resides on a small farm near Door Village with his wife of 22 years and their three daughters, where he runs a small business."
(End Bio)
As always, if you have questions that you'd like answered during our interview with Commissioner Haney, please email them to Talk@DionBergeron.com
If you, or someone you know, is a community leader, small business owner, or running for office and would like to appear on the show, please email Talk@DionBergeron.com and our scheduling team will reach out to you.

Speaker Johnson insists that the House must pass a FISA bill. What's in it and why is it so important?
The President of Guyana was interviewed and the interviewer tried to shame him regarding the oil in his country and climate change. Guyana President is incredibly based, and was having NONE of it. We'll show you the interview.
Someone compiled the complete list of the individuals accusing old Uncle Joe of inappropriate touching. It's quite a list...
Brazil and X (formerly Twitter) are engaged in a bitter battle over free speech and government overreach and censorship. It isn't getting much coverage in the news. What's happening?
Saudi Arabia is planning on building a massive city in the desert. Their plans have changed a bit, though. Let's check in on that.
Today's Conspiracy Theory segment is going to focus on the theory that blue roofs can avert destruction from DEWs (Direct Energy Weapons). Is there any proof? We'll take a look!

Meet Kurt Earnst: Future La Porte County Circuit Court Judge?
Join us on Friday, April 5th at 7PM Central to meet Kurt Earnst, who wants to be our next La Porte County Circuit Court Judge.
Is he worthy? Only YOU can determine that. We'll be asking the tough questions, like does he smile? (his picture is very serious. I hope he has a sense of humor or this interview is gonna get awkward quick :) )
He'll be joining us in the studio so I sure hope he appreciates the wit of our host.
See below for the email to send your questions to and we hope you join us. You can tune in to Dion's Daily Dose on Facebook, Rumble, YouTube, and X (Formerly Twitter) @DionsDailyDose
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio. This is what we received.
"Diversity of Experience, Leadership & Dedication to Public Service
Becoming a judge has been a goal of mine since I entered Valparaiso School of Law in the fall of 1993. For the past 27 years, I have practiced law in LaPorte County with the Law Firm of Braje, Nelson & Janes LLP. For the entirety of my practice, I have been engaged in criminal and civil litigation. Furthermore, since 2001, I have been assigned as a Felony Public Defender in LaPorte Circuit Court appearing virtually every Friday morning since that time handling and trying major felony cases. During this time, I have gained an extensive knowledge not only of conducting trials but also the workings of Circuit Court. Also, I have practiced civil litigation in Courts throughout Northwest Indiana as well as criminal trial work in the Federal Courts of the Northern District of Indiana and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. I have also argued before and participated in litigation and appeals before the Indiana Supreme Court. It is this diversity of experience that I hope to bring to the bench as LaPorte Circuit Court Judge.
My upbringing shaped me with a strong desire to give something back to the community. For the past 26 years, it has been my privilege to serve as a volunteer firefighter and first responder with the Long Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Since January of 2023, I have served the department as Fire Chief. I am a past board member and Board President of the Boys and Girls Club of Michigan City and a past Volunteer Judge for the Teen Court Program. Believing in assisting those who have served our Country, I have served as a team member of the LaPorte County Veteran’s Treatment Court since its inception."
(End of Bio)
Tune in to watch live or send your questions to Talk@DionBergeron.com and we'll do our best to get to your questions during the interview.

Meet Rhonda Graves - Future La Porte County Auditor?
Tune in to #DDD at 7PM on Tuesday, April 2nd to meet Rhonda Graves, who is running in the Republican Primary for La Porte County Auditor.
As the current Chief Deputy Auditor, Rhonda Graves has experience in the office and knows the job. Luckily, she has agreed to come to the studio in order for us to get to know the woman behind the name and title.
Although considerably less publicly known than our current auditor, she is no less dedicated, and we'll get a chance to talk to her about her job, her extracurricular activities in the community (of which there are many) and how she has the energy for all this.
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio, and we post them without edit. The bio we were sent is included below.
"Rhonda Graves has been the Chief Deputy Auditor of La Porte County for just over a year. She brought with her the knowledge she gained while serving as Chief Deputy Treasurer of Starke County and prior years of service in early voting for La Porte County. With this knowledge she was able to hit the ground running upon arrival to the Auditor’s Office.
“I am running because I see the need to increase accountability for the funds we control, transparency of the funds that we spend, and the understanding of allowable government spending, all while maintaining an office that works efficiently, lawfully, and stays up-to-date on best practices. After all, it’s your tax dollars at stake.”
Rhonda grew up in southeastern KY as a coal miners daughter. Her father was killed in the coal mines when Rhonda was 7, and she along with her mom and sisters moved to La Porte for a change of scenery. That was 1983.
Today, the Graves family consists of Rhonda, her husband Mike, two children, Emily and Ty, and their dog Lou. Both children graduate this year- one from high school and one from college.
Rhonda enjoys giving back to the community in various ways - Girl Scouts, Cookies for Soldiers, Gleaner Arbor, etc."

Meet Timothy (Tim) Stabosz: Future La Porte County Commissioner?
*Audio feedback loop in the first minute or so, I eliminated it as soon as I realized it* Apologies. I'll try to pay more attention in the future.
Join us Tuesday March 26th at 7 PM Central to meet Timothy Stabosz, candidate (R) for La Porte County Commissioner, ask any questions you may have, and get to know the person behind the headlines.
Tim has been an outspoken critic of certain La Porte County personalities and policies. For some, he's a controversial figure that makes the job harder than it has to be, speaking out when there are those that wish he'd be silent. He's been on the front page more than once, with calls for his resignation, lawsuits, and more. For others, he's a lone voice of reason in a sea of "seedy underbelly" politics, calling out corruption and insisting on accountability and transparency by demanding itemized bills so that the public knows exactly how our tax dollars are being spent.
Is he doing what's right for We The People, or is it just a power trip?
Bruce Wayne or Harvey Dent?
Is he more Batman or Two-Face?
Tune in and find out!
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio, and here is what we were sent:
"Timothy (Tim) Stabosz is running in the May 2024 Primary Election for La Porte County Commissioner, District 2, currently held by Richard Mrzoniski. Tim feels compelled to run to fight the corruption and abuse of power that currently occurs in county government, from no-bid contracts, intimidation, abuse of power, and the list goes on. Tim wants to bring back openness, honesty, and integrity to the county and the position of County Commissioner. Tim is a fighter for the residents of La Porte County and cannot be bought or intimidated by those seeking to run the show behind the curtain. His campaign slogan is simple and reflects this: Vote for Tim because you deserve better.
A 1990 graduate of DePaul University, Tim earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and spent two years as a federal credit union auditor. He has spent the last 30+ years in the financial industry and has earned significant experience and success as an investor and entrepreneur. Tim served two terms as a LaPorte City Councilman (Tim was on the Financial Committee for both terms), and in 2020, he was elected to the office of County Auditor, aka the Chief Financial Officer of LaPorte County. He is also a member of the Parents Television & Media Council, a nonprofit and nonpartisan research and education organization advocating for responsible entertainment and the protection of children and families from graphic sex, violence, and profanity in the media, and was the Chairman of the Board until December 2023 ( www.parentstv.org ).
Originally from Chicago, Tim moved to LaPorte after falling in love with his “adopted hometown”. A historical home aficionado, Tim is the proud owner of a home designed by the architect Franklin Burnham, whose most prominent commission is the Georgia State Capitol. Tim also spends his free time restoring pinball machines, driving his classic car, and participating in vocal performances."

Meet Elzbieta (Ela) Bilderback, La Porte County Recorder
#DDD Guest: Elzbieta (Ela) Bilderback, current La Porte County Recorder.
Ella is running for re-election this year, and has a challenger in the Primary Election.
She has graciously taken time out of her schedule to appear on #DionsDailyDose to give you, the resident and voter, an opportunity to meet her, ask her any questions you may have, and decide whether or not she is worthy of your vote.
On a personal note, Dion has known Ms. Bilderback for a few years now socially, and she is one of the nicest, most thoughtful, and kindest souls he's ever met. At the same time, she can most certainly hold her own with the toughest out there, because some people mistake kindness for weakness.
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio, and this what we were sent:
--
“I am pleased with the progress that my staff and I have made over the last 3 years,” she said, “and I wish to continue that work.” Bilderback noted she was especially proud of the back-indexing of old records that her office has accomplished. “When I came on board, we had over 500,000 old records to update, and make electronically searchable. This is a tedious process that, if done by an outside vendor, would have cost $750,000. My office has completed 400,000 of the 500,000 records. This is significant, because it was done at a time when the real estate market was extremely busy (2021 into early 2022), and we were witnessing a level of recording activity that had not been seen in many years. My goal and intent is to complete the remaining 100,000 records by the end of this year,” she said.
Other accomplishments Bilderback noted include updating the computers in her office. “We had programs freezing up and shutting down, compromising efficiency, when I came into office. The last time the computers had been updated was 10 years prior, so it was time,” she said.
She also noted that the Recorder’s vault in the courthouse has finally been cleaned out for the first time in years. “It was bad. There was all kinds of stuff that did not belong in there. It was being used as a place to store things that nobody wanted to deal with, and it was dirty and dusty. We also put a plan in place to regulate temperature and humidity more closely, and have additionally begun the process of de-acidifying the prized deed record books, through an outside specialist. All of this, together, will increase the longevity of these critical records,” she said."
--END--
I hope you'll join us Thursday, March 7th at 7PM Central time to meet Ela Bilderback, ask her what's important to you, and most importantly, become an even more educated voter.

Meet Chuck Watterson: Candidate(R) for Judge of La Porte County Circuit Court
Join #DDD March 5th at 7 PM to get to know Mr. Watterson and decide if you want him to be Judge Watterson. This is one of the most critical positions in our county government and will have a massive effect on much more than we can cover in a short blurb here. We've seen the effects of lawlessness around the country and we see how crucial it is to have the right judges.
Judge Alevizos is retiring and so this will be an open position. There are several people running in the Primary election and Mr. Watterson is excited to have the opportunity to speak to you, the citizens and voters of La Porte County. He was one of the first candidates (of any race) to contact us/respond about being on the show, which bodes very well for his transparency and I'm looking forward to interviewing him!
I, for one, will be taking this interview and position quite seriously (while still having fun - I sure hope he has a sense of humor).
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio and this is what Mr. Watterson sent us:
-Watterson Bio-
"Chuck Watterson currently serves as the La Porte County Chief Deputy Prosecutor at the La Porte County Prosecutor's Office and has held this position since he was appointed by Prosecutor Sean Fagan in January 2023.
Watterson is a 21 year resident of La Porte County and his ties to the community run deep. His wife, Natalie Watterson, is a lifelong LaPorte resident and Dean of Students at Kesling Intermediate School. Together they have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. Watterson attended LaPorte High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University North Central. Watterson obtained his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He has been practicing law in LaPorte for over six years. He served as the President of the La Porte County Election Board for 3 years as an appointee of the Republican Party. His experience as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney has given him a deep understanding of the criminal justice system and the importance of fairness and impartiality in the courtroom.
If elected, Watterson will focus on improving access to justice for all members of the community. He believes everyone deserves a fair trial and that the court should be a place where justice is served for everyone. He also has a strong passion for the Juvenile Justice system and wants to work together with the schools to insure that our juveniles are given every opportunity to succeed.
Watterson is known for his dedication to his work and his commitment to serving the people of La Porte County. He has a proven track record of fairness, integrity, professionalism, and is widely respected by his colleagues in the legal community. It has always been his dream to be the presiding Judge of the La Porte County Circuit Court, and to follow the esteemed work that Judge Alevizos has done during his respected time on the bench.
If elected as Judge of the La Porte County Circuit Court, Watterson will bring his knowledge, experience, and infusion of youth to the bench, ensuring that justice is served in a fair and impartial manner to all members of the community."
-End-
I can't stress enough how important this position is and the far reaching effects of choosing (and electing) the right person for the job. I hope you'll join us.
As always, if you have questions you'd like Mr. Watterson to answer, email them to talk@dionbergeron.com and we'll do our best to get them included in the show.
If you, or someone you know, is running for an elected position and aren't afraid of meeting your potential bosses (the general public), email Talk@DionBergeron.com and schedule an appearance.

Guest: Darrell Becker, CMO of ContentSafe: How to protect your content!
DDD 2.9.24 Guest: Darrell Becker- CMO of ContentSafe, a company that bills itself as a way to protect your online content. They strive for free speech and our guest will tell us about his company and what they do.
I'm looking forward to this one. With the rise of censorship, we're seeing more and more creators either being banned, shadowbanned (The thing that social media companies claimed they didn't do, until they were forced to admit in front of Congress that there's evidence that they do, indeed do it, and have for a long time), demonetized, and deplatformed. ContentSafe claims to be the answer to this (at least as much of an answer as they can be) and we'll learn how they fight back against this infection that is censorship.
We ask all of our guests to send us a bio, and we've included what Mr. Becker has sent to us below in its entirety:
"Darrell Becker is the chief marketing officer of ContentSafe dot CO.
Since 2018 we have been publishing our client's videos on all of the available alt media platforms that don't have a history of censorship. We are also able to publish videos on IPFS, which is a distributed service that cannot be censored. More platforms lets our clients grow their audience and sell more goods and services, make more money and use this to get important information out there!
Darrell Becker is also a licensed acupuncturist and holistic healthcare professional, consulting with clients worldwide to solve chronic illnesses and injuries that don’t usually get better from the industrial medical methods you get from most doctors and hospitals.
