I've always loved comic books and graphic novels. They truly are imaginative and allow new stories to be told that otherwise wouldn't. I'm really tired of unfinished video games that launch in a constant need of repair. I want to be able to buy a game and know what I'm getting and be able to enjoy that same experience later on. There's a very odd idea in gaming that somehow being new or graphically impressive makes a game good, while older games are somehow bad or relics of the past. I have never understood where this idea came from or how so many people can cling onto it. Some of my favorite games, like Final Fantasy 7, Fallout New Vegas, Dark Souls, Jak and Daxter, Bloodborne, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts and more all have one thing in common - they're not new. Assassin's Creed 1 has been out since 2007. Surprisingly, the game holds up very well and looks good, especially on Xbox One X. The game has been enhanced on Xbox One X (looks even better on PC) and I'm surprised at how much effort has gone into maintaining this game. The game has multiple layers of story, involving the key protagonists Altair and Desmond Miles and how each tangles with their era of the Templar society. While this isn't my favorite in the series, there's a lot here to appreciate, and I'm really glad you all suggested I play this game again! As someone who really enjoys both Marvel Comics and DC Comics, at least some of each, and really enjoys a lot of the movies and games both of these companies put out, I wanted to talk a bit about the whole Marvel vs DC or DC vs Marvel fandom war that I guess has been sort of a thing forever. I don't see it all the time, more just some discussions now about what characters would do in fights, which is cool to see, but occasionally people still spring up who think they're really shaking the hornets' nest by hating on one or the other. I just really don't understand caring enough about this to get super angry at it. If people want to talk about who would win in a fight or what story is more interesting etc that's cool, but I don't get the whole anger behind the subject.
