Baby Penguin Must Find Mother Before Freezing | Snow Chick: A Penguin's Tale | BBC Earth
Snow Chick: A Penguin's Tale
This enchanting film follows the adventures of one charismatic emperor penguin from the time he emerges from the egg to the moment he leaves for the sea. Emperor penguins grow up during the winter in one of the coldest places on Earth - the Antarctic. The conditions are harsh and chicks must endure temperatures of minus 60 degrees Celsius and terrifying blizzards. This film follows the trials and tribulations of one adorable fluffy chick - from his first tentative steps on the ice, to getting lost, to hanging out with the other chicks. It also shows the lengths his parents will go to provide food, overcoming huge obstacles, avoiding predators like leopard seals, and enduring freezing conditions. Full of tense and moving moments as well as comedy and character, Snow Chick follows the emperor penguin's life story in a level of detail never attempted before.

Natural World: Saving the Panda
Conservation has come a long way since the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) was officially established as a charity almost 50 years ago on 11 September 1961, and the giant panda's story epitomises just how much has been achieved. Granted exclusive access to the world's number one panda research centre and reserve at Chengdu, this film follows the life of a mother and cubs from conception through birth and hand-rearing, to play and young adulthood - and the international team that care for them - over the course of 18 months. With archive footage, the film looks back at the extraordinary East-West collaboration that brought giant pandas back from the brink of extinction, and ahead to the radical, controversial and risky next phase: reintroduction into the wild.

Wild West
This wild frontier has been forged by the elements and built by monumental forces. Over millennia America's most iconic landscapes have been carved out; wind sculpted deserts, like Death Valley and the Grand Canyon; giant redwood forests fed by precious waters; and extreme coastlines - from the wave sculpted shores of the pacific to the warm sheltered sea of cortex. Nowhere in America is more extreme, more varied and more spectacular than the Wild West.
