Hello their friends, this is something that I had an idea but it took a different direction as soon as I picked up the brush. You ever have that happen? I have been thinking a lot about the short that I did about what you do when you have “writers block”. Upon reflection I have found that forcing myself to be creative. there is a painting that I see in my mind when it comes to this one and this is not it. The Red and black one I did is kind of in the same idea. I have this idea in my head and I am not sure how to get it onto a canvas. A flower in vase that I can do some what. A Bob Ross style landscape I can kind of do. The idea in my head to translate it via Oil Paint is harder than I think. I probably will have to do it not on camera and let the first part dry a lot more or learn some new techniques. It is actually Prussian blue with a black in it so it is very black. I had a little bit different idea in my head when I went into this. I was more interested in the Red. I wanted to play the red “brighter” without adding white and getting pink. What I found is adding yellow lemon yellow which is a brighter color. this one was fun. its simple but I feel this just does it for me. I sometimes overcomplicate things. I am sure you can tell if you have watched enough. I have been bouncing back and forth between oil and acrylic paint. 2 very different mediums. I feel the colors look better and mix together with oil. acrylic paint is much easier to work with but I don't think it has the same colors if that makes. People talk about “i get to do this X today” instead of “I have to do this X today” I really enjoy this and I get to do this. I do sometimes feel though that I have to do it. I also don't think there is anything wrong with that. If I only did stuff when I feel like it I would have given up a long time ago. Creating is something that I will always love doing. Making the video is not always the part that I enjoy, but I feel that is part of the bigger picture. Discipline is what gets you over the finish line. When I was a kid. My mom had this painting in the bathroom. It was a print of a Picasso painting. It was very simple 2 hands holding a bunch of flowers. This is the first real art that I can remember being exposed to. I am guessing this is why I have always liked Picasso. I was thinking of that painting and this is what I painted. I painted this painting while watching all the election stuff coming in. I am rather surprised that this is the place that my country is in. (United States) I find that I am influenced by all things when it comes to my art. It may not directly reflect in an ah ha moment but it’s there. This was the first election since 1992 that I actively didn’t vote. I will no longer support a broken system that thinks violence is the only way to solve problems. I have been trying to be more purposeful with what I am doing. I had drawn up a rough sketch for this. I middle part was suppose to be water but I felt that didn’t looks as good as a pathway.
