Hello there friends. I have been painting with Prussian Blue lately. It is a real dark blue. It gave me this idea of what it looks like on a cloudy night. I thought I would see what I could do with it. This is what you got. I was originally going to stop at just the moon but it looked to plain. I wanted to add more. Hello there friends. As I was painting this the thought of the title came to mind. When I was a kid I lived in Seattle, WA. My mom and grandmother would take me and my brother to Swanson's Nursery from time to time. It was always fun they had all these water statues and flowers and all sorts of stuff a NW nursery would have. I still have found memories of that place. Hello there friends. I had this idea of the sky and the foreground. I just started painting and this is what came out. I did the foreground a bit backwards. I should have done the grassy part frist then the bushes, I think of them like the agave bush/plant. I am working on doing more output to see where that takes me. Hello there friends. This is another one that was fun. I am really liking the paint knife and how it plays with the other colors. I had been thinking about a bunch of random stuff this day. I wanted to just start off with the paint knife. The colors started to come together and the flowers just came to me. I like the way the brush and the little bit of color I put in it plays with all the other colors. Hello there friends. This one started with me sitting in my chair in my studio, looking at this black canvas and listening to The Velvet Underground. I then started painting letting the music play. I was listing to the album “The Velvet Underground & Nico”. Its the one with the Andy WarHol Banana painting on the cover. I Put that album on repeat and just let it take me where it would. Hello there friends. I was sitting in church listening to the newish pastor give his sermon. We have been going through Romans. The Apostle Paul really has a way with words. The pastor giving his sermon while speaking about Romans, ended his sermon talking about John 8 and the woman caught in adultery. This is one of my favorite chapters in the bible. He gets to the part where Jesus is drawing in the dirt while the Pharacies say she should be stoned. Then Jesus says. “He who is without sin shall be the one to through the first stone” I have always like this one because the next line it says. They all began to put down their stones and walk away from the Oldest who know very much what their sins were, to the youngest who don't know as well. We are all sinners the best we can do is do better tomorrow than we did today. I remember the first time I read this was when I was on a mission trip with the youth group. I was 14 or 15 years old. We had stopped to do bible study on our way to Utah. It was outside of the Tri-Cites and we were in this park. I can still see it in my mind. That one stuck all this time with me. Hello there friends. I was listening to Dave Smith and Robbie the Fire Bernstien on @partoftheproblem podcast on youtube. They were talking about Julian Assange and his guilty plea. It got me thinking about Ross Ulbricht and how the Government pretty much threw him in the clinck and chucked the key. If you don't know about Ross Ulbricht that is a story that you should go google. There are a couple of documentaries and some other things about him. He is someone that should have never been convicted and for sure needs to be removed from prison and pardoned. Hello there friends. I was watching a video by @angela-mcardle on youtube. She is the head of the Libertarian Party. She was talking about Moral Courage and how a lot of Libertarians at least party members lack Moral Courage. People that say things but are not willing to defend those things. Metaphorically standing on island by yourself. Standing Principle. It really struck me because I had been having these discussions with my friends about the broken 2 party system and how I have always been against it. I have always voted against it. These people complain about said system then go right back the only person is Trump or Biden. No there is always a 3rd option and if you are complaining about it but still voting for it you should shut about it. you are doing noting about it. It inspired me to go paint this painting. Hello there friends. I was sitting there looking at this canvas. I was listening to different music maybe 20 mins. Then Soothsayer came up. I was thinking I would listen to that song on repeat. I then decided I would listen to the whole album. That is where the Name comes from. If you don't know any of what I am talking about. This is an album by Buckethead. He and I have something in common. Social Anxiety. Not that you need to know that or me over sharing. Tee hee. That is why he wears the bucket and the mask. I have always been impressed with his ability to be as famous as he is and still keep his identity under cover for the most part. We know his real name and there are maybe 4 or 5 pictures of him with the mask and bucket on the internet. He played in Guns n Roses and was able to keep it under wraps. With that. If you put some time into it. you will get better. Yes Pablo Picasso was gifted. I have seen work he did as teenager. He had the gift but guess what. He also had the work ethic. Pablo painted somewhere in the ball park of 60,000 paintings in his life. Most us have only see maybe 100. Don't be afraid to start. It takes time and effort and a work ethic of showing up everyday. If I can do it. You can do it. Now go out there and do it. Don't concern yourself with other peoples opinions. You define what your art is. Fuck them the people that shit talk in the comments. Hello there friends. I have had this canvas on my easel staring at me for a day. I had the idea of the blue but nothing else. Then you just start painting and let the art take you where it is going to take you. The title comes from that guy @garyvee This has been one of those things that took a while for me to really understand. No one care about you. They have all this stuff going on in their lives they do not have any fucks to give about you. It's our self importants that makes us think we are more important that we really are. Go out there and do you thing. The people that support you they will do that. Your audience they will watch and listen. Those people that run their mouths in the comments they are just insecure and you are doing something they wish the could so you think its this personal attack when in reality they are attacking themselves. Go out and buy some paint and some brushes and something to paint on. Many surfaces will work. Water Color paper is a good starting place. If you have a hobby lobby or a Michael's I know they do sales on art supplies different things at different times but if you pay attention you can get all your art supplies for like 40% or 50% off.
