In this tutorial video, we'll talk about what window treatments are in real estate. For example, what do real estate agents mean when they say a new construction condo will not come with any window treatments?

As you'll learn, window treatments are a blanket term for all types of coverings for your windows, ranging from curtains, drapery, roller shades, roller blinds to motorized blinds. Because there is such a variety of different options for covering your windows, real estate professionals use the term window treatments which are much more inclusive of all different types of coverings you might see on a property's windows.

So don't panic when you hear this term next time you're at a showing with a real estate agent. You'll really only hear this term for properties that are vacant or developer ready. Often times developers leave it up to the buyers to decide how to decorate the place, so they leave the windows completely bare without any window treatments. This is why so many new construction homes are described as being in "developer ready" or "decorater ready" condition.

Make sure to check out our other videos on what these various other terms mean, and what type of window treatments make the most sense (i.e. fixed track curtains vs full length curtains).
