Started the Appalachian trail by hiking the approach trail, stayed at the Springer mountain shelter, skipped the Hawk Mt shelter, camped at Devil's Kitchen, skipped Gooch Mt shelter,, and got off trail at Woody Gap to spend the night in Dahlonega, GA to avoid storms coming through the area.
