Sun simulator designed by Nasa in 1966, it was made in the 80s and placed up there, out past the distance of the moon in 1995. Reason is that there is a massive planet, 7 times larger than our sun, which has locked onto the suns gravity and has been orbiting our sun for years. So the simulator was needed to prevent the people seeing a 3 hour eclipse every other day from our real sun. Our sun is still there and sometimes you can still see the yellow outline of our sun behind the sun simulator. Try recording an old western film made before 1995, fast forward until you see the sun and you'll see it was yellow but after 1995 it's white!
