Final Fantasy 4 (Pixel Remaster) - Part 1: Questioning Authority

If you read my last Community post, you might have heard about the technical issues I've been having with recording Quake videos lately. So I'm going to have to put that series on hold for a bit until I can get everything sorted out. In the meantime, let's begin our next series, the recent September 2021 pixel remaster of my favorite entry in Square Enix's flagship JRPG franchise, Final Fantasy 4!

Years ago I played the 3D Remake based on the Nintendo DS version on my channel, but I thought I'd explore this version as well to show off the differences. This version is definitely easier than the 3D remake, so this series will be a lot shorter. The new remixes of the music in this version are top-notch!

To kick off our story, our main protagonist Cecil, a dark knight and captain of the air force of the kingdom of Baron, the Red Wings, invaded the town of Mysidia and stole their Water Crystal. Cecil and his crew are troubled by the things their king ordered them to do and when Cecil questions the King's motives to his face, he is stripped of his position and he and the dragoon Kain are sent on a ground mission to deliver a package to the village of Mist. But after what transpires after that, they both decide their king is not worth serving anymore. And thus the quest for redemption begins...
