"All Shook Up," written by Otis Blackwell (although Elvis was added as a co-writer of the song at the insistence of Colonel Tom Parker), was Elvis' 7th #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1957, and it spent nine weeks in that top position (songfacts.com, 2022; Whitburn, 2013). According to songfacts.com (2022), Al Stanton, an owner of Otis Blackwell's music publishing company, approached Blackwell while shaking a bottle of soda and said "'I've got an idea. Why don't you write a song called 'All Shook Up'?' According to Blackwell, the song was finished in a couple of days."
