Buddhist monks fire-walk for peace in Japan

During the annual Hiwatari-sai festival, celebrated at a temple on Mount Takao, west of Tokyo, Buddhist monks walk barefoot over smouldering coals while praying for world peace, good health, and protection against misfortune.
