Risk vs Reward/Salary vs Commission
When looking at compensation packages ask yourself the following.
1. Transparency... Is it clear what I am earning for myself compared to what I am earning for the company?
2. Equity... Is what I am earning justified in relation to the value I bring? Do I have true Equity in the rewards that my efforts are bringing to the organization? Or, am I just being paid for my time?
3. Security... Not to be confused with stability (which doesn't exist). Am I making enough so that emergencies and life changes are not a financial strain? Are my earnings structured so that my renewal compensation matches the long term earnings for each sale? Am I vested? Will I continue to still be paid from my efforts even after I leave the company?
4. Scalability... As I grow within an organization, do my earnings grow along with my increase in productivity? Will I be compensated for putting my efforts into developing those that come after me?
