Ukrainian civilians prepare Molotov cocktails to fight Russian forces

Pravda Beer Brewery in the western city of Lviv has decided to contribute to the war effort by making Molotov cocktails in bottles with labels featuring images of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence on Friday (February 25) encouraged citizens to make Molotov cocktails to defend the country and posted instructions on its website how to make them.

Putin launched what he called a special military operation ignoring weeks of Western warnings and saying the "neo-Nazis" ruling Ukraine threatened Russia's security - a charge Kyiv and Western governments say is baseless propaganda.

Russia's assault is the biggest on a European state since World War Two and threatens to upend the continent's post-Cold War order.

Civilians living in Zaporijya city of southeastern Ukraine are seen in the video as they prepare Molotov cocktails in case of a Russian attack into their city.

Many civilians in several cities of Ukraine were also trained in the use of weapons, first aid, and emergency procedures.

In preparation for the worst-case scenario with Russia, Ukraine’s reservist officers have been holding weekly military training for civilians.

Ukraine on Sunday entered the fourth day since the start of large-scale Russian military intervention against the country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a "special military operation" in Ukraine on Thursday, days after recognizing two separatist-held enclaves in eastern Ukraine.

He claimed that Moscow had no plan to occupy its neighbor, but wanted to "demilitarize" and "denazify" Ukraine.

Zelenskyy has accused Moscow of trying to install a puppet government, vowing that Ukrainians will defend their country against Russian aggression.
