Honeywell 5828V: Installation of Wireless Keypad

The Honeywell 5828V is Honeywell's annunciating wireless keypad. It is a two-way communicating wireless unit that is programmed to the Honeywell L5100 using a house ID code which is unique. Most of the sensors use their serial numbers. Sterling takes us through the simple steps of mounting the Honeywell 5828V on the wall and using a K0991 transformer to plug it in so that it doesn't shut off. While the 5828 series keypads can be operated using battery power, we always recommend that an user install the system with a K0991 power adapter in order that the keypad doesn't shut off. This can be a source of endless aggravation for customers who do not always want to go through the complex button presses of turning the power back on. Additionally, the fact that it shuts off and doesn't make noise is a common source of false alarms. For those two reason, plugging the 5828 in is highly recommended.
