Which Cameras are Compatible with the Lyric Security System?

In this video, Jorge talks about the different security cameras that can be used with the Honeywell Lyric Controller. Any legacy Honeywell IPCAM Cameras and any Honeywell Lyric Camera will work with the panel. Honeywell plans to discontinue their IPCAM Cameras and focus on their Lyric Camera lineup.

But even though the older IPCAM Cameras are being discontinued, they can still be activated by a user's alarm monitoring company and be used with the system. However, if a user purchases a new security camera, it will most likely be one of the newer Lyric Cameras. Some Lyric Cameras include the Lyric C1, the Lyric C2 and the outdoor Lyric OC1.

The older legacy IPCAM devices can be viewed directly from the Lyric Controller. This is done through the video section of the main menu of the panel. The system will display the IP address and the MAC address for the camera. The live feed for the camera can then be viewed on the screen. These legacy cameras must be activated by the user's monitoring company.

However, it is currently not possible to view the live feed for the Lyric Series Cameras directly from the Lyric Controller itself. instead, these cameras can be viewed from the Total Connect interactive service. Honeywell may release a firmware update sometime in the future that would allow these cameras to be viewed directly from the system.

Total Connect can be accessed from a web browser or using the Total Connect 2.0 Mobile App. By using the mobile app, it is possible to view the live feed of a security camera from essentially anywhere. The app is available from free download for any Android or iOS device. As long as the user is connected to the network on their mobile device, they can view their camera.
