Wholesale Home Alarm Monitoring w Alarm Grid

In this video, Dylan talks about wholesale monitoring and how it can be used in residential locations. With wholesale monitoring, a user will have multiple locations or systems on just one Total Connect or Alarm.com account. This allows the user to access all their systems from one convenient place.

The main benefit of wholesale monitoring is that a user will only need one set of login credentials to access all of their systems and different locations. Once they have accessed Total Connect 2.0 or Alarm.com, they can navigate to the locations section to manage any system that is associated with their account. They can even control a system remotely while they are on-site at a completely different location with a completely different system.

When a user does wholesale alarm monitoring, each account will still be billed individually. In fact, the user's credit or debit card will probably be charged on two different days, unless the user has it set up so that the expenses occur on the same day. Both of the monitoring accounts will be under the same name, but they really won't be connected in many ways. The only distinction is that both locations will be accessible from the same ADC or TC2 account.

Although wholesale alarm monitoring is most commonly used by businesses, it can also be used for residential applications as well. This is usually true if a user owns multiple properties. For example, a user might have a primary home and a summer home that they both want to be monitored.

Once a user has accessed TC2 or ADC, they can navigate to the locations tab to select which location or system they want to work with. With the TC2 or ADC Mobile App, the system can be controlled from virtually anywhere, even if the user is off-site. Both services allow a user to arm and disarm their system, check the status of sensors, operate Z-Wave smart home devices and more.
