In this video, Jorge explains how a self-installed Interlogix Simon XT Security System can be used for monitoring services. For a DIY company like Alarm Grid, it doesn't matter how the panel was installed. The only thing that matters is whether or not the security panel works and functions properly.

Some end users may not feel comfortable installing an alarm system, or they might not want to spend the time completing this process. In that case, they might hire a professional installer to complete the process for them. But other users might accept the challenge of performing a DIY installation, and it can help them feel empowered for setting up their own equipment. Both options are fine, and Alarm Grid will monitor systems set up in either way. We will mention that most users find that installing and setting up their own security system is a surprisingly simple process. This is especially true for wireless systems. In fact, we encourage our customers to become DIYers, get their hands a little dirty and set up their own equipment. Not only will this help them save money by not having to hire an installer, this will also provide them with a better understanding of how their system works. Alarm Grid offers both phone and online chat support for completing this process.

Once a Simon XT has been installed, it can be activated by an alarm monitoring company. Most users will want to install an Alarm.com Cellular Module if the system does not already have one. This will provide reliable communication for the alarm system, and it will allow the system to work with the Alarm.com interactive service. The system will send all outbound communication signals through a cellular connection that is made with ADC. From there, Alarm.com will forward these messages to a central monitoring station and/or the end user, depending on their alarm monitoring plan.
