In this video, Jorge shows you how to reboot the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System. An end user can perform a reboot for the panel without needing to unplug its transformer or disconnect its backup battery. The system can be rebooted or entirely powered down from the Advanced Settings Menu on the panel.

Performing a reboot will have the system power cycle and automatically power back on after it has powered down. A shut down will have the panel power down and remain powered down. You will need to hold the power button on the side of the panel to power it back on. Performing a reboot is typically done as a troubleshooting step. It is also performed automatically when performing a system firmware update. You may want to power down the panel if you are planning to make hardware changes, or if you are planning on not using the system for a while. You can also choose to have the system display its Setup Wizard when it is powered back on. This will assist you or a new user with setting up the system for the first time.

Remember, your system will not be able to communicate with the Alarm.com Servers for monitoring or automation purposes while the system is powered down. For that reason, you will usually want to keep it powered on at all times. And if you do power it down for some reason, then you should make sure to power it back on as soon as possible. The system will automatically reestablish its connection with Alarm.com, provided that you have a proper communication path set up and the system properly registered for alarm monitoring service. Alarm Grid customers must have a Gold or Platinum Level Plan (Self or Full) to use the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus for alarm monitoring. If the system is not powered on, then it will be unable to recognize system events and alert Alarm.com when said events occur.
