"Kind of a Drag" was the Buckinghams' first entry onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1966/1967, their first and only #1 hit, and one of five top 20 hits for the group (Whitburn, 2013). The song was written by the group's friend, Jim Holvay (songfacts.com, 2022). In 2009, the band was inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame (thebuckinghams.com, 2022).
