Sunday Longplay - Mega Man IV (Game Boy)

This week on Sunday Longplay, the Game Boy Mega Man series continues with the fourth installment released in 1993, also known in Japan as Rockman World 4! This game follows the formula set by the first three games and incorporates the robot masters from two different NES games (in this case Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5), with four from each game. Also, a new Mega Man Killer robot is introduced in this game as Ballade tries to kill Mega Man before Wily's castle like Enker and Punk tried and failed to do in the first and third games. This game also introduces the item shop that would return in later mainline games in the Mega Man Classic series. This game also has two sets of collectible letters. The BEAT letters in the Mega Man 4 stages allow you to call Beat into battle, and the WILY letters in the Mega Man 5 stages will allow you access to an area of the second Ballade stage with plenty of power-ups.
