Which is better, Revolvers or Semi Automatics, for home defense
Lots of subscribers have asked us to talk about the pros and cons of revolvers vs. semi automatic handguns. I believe both are sold, reliable defensive tools.
Frankly, I'm less concerned with the tool (revolver or semi-auto) and more interested in what the user can or can't do under the extreme stress of a gun fight. What matters most is the users training, skills and proficiency.
There are many misunderstanding regarding safety and reliability. Plus, many people fail to consider the economics of the tool and the ammunition.
In this video (part 1) we discuss these misconceptions as well as my experiences using and teaching with both revolvers and semi-autos. In part 2 we'll discuss pros and cons of both in regards to loading, ammunition capacity, clearing stoppages, as well as testing our speed / accuracy under tight time frames.
