THE #LOOK

What does he see in her?
And what does she see in him? Our friends wonder about our choices,
and we do the same about theirs. What, dammit, is that so-and-so special?
And what will be Beltrana's secret charm?

I'll tell you what she sees in him: she sees everything she couldn't see in
her own father, she sees a rare serenity and that's more important than the
Porsche he doesn't have, she sees that he gets emotional with small gestures
and revolt with injustices, she sees a mole on her left shoulder that strangely
no one notices, she sees that he does everything to make her happy, she sees
that his eyes crinkle when reading a book and even so the stubborn one does not
look for an ophthalmologist , she sees that he misses, but when he gets it right,
he hits it right, that he looks like a lord at a restaurant table but is awkward
to dress, she sees that he doesn't give a damn about standard behaviors, she sees
that he's a dreamer incorrigible, she sees him crying, she sees him naked, she sees
him as invisible to everyone else.

Now I'll tell you what he sees in her: he does see that her body isn't even remotely
like that of the best actress, but he sees that she has a plump thigh and a mouth that
smiles more to one side than to the other. the other, and he sees that she, the way she
is, fills all his needs from the past, and he sees that she needs him and that makes him
feel important, and he sees that she still hasn't learned how to make a ponytail decent,
but he does a hairstyling that should be patented, and he sees that she yawns at the thought
of the word yawn and that it makes it seem like it's always spring, she likes flowers in the
house so much, and he sees that she's as insecure as he is and is human like everyone else,
sees that she is free and could be with anyone else, but it is by her side that she is, and sees
that she worries when he arrives late and doesn't worry if he doesn't say he loves her from 10
in 10 minutes, which is why he loves her even if no one understands.
