Jeni Loves Flexibility, New Way Of Doing Things, Supportive, Goal Minded People, In Online Business

Hi I'm Darren, I'm here with Jenny today, and Jenny let's talk about your online business. When did you start it?

We started I think, just over a year, year and a half ago. And yeah we're well on our way to our five-year business plan for it.

And what would you say is your favorite thing about your online business?

Okay, so when we were doing our research into checking out this online business, we found that the business foundation was so solid, and well put together with the training, and the mentoring, and the coaching, that it really carried a high level of integrity, and that for us was really critical, because we both came from careers, that were more conventional. And I think also, just the fact that we were working with a whole bunch of positive, and goal focused people, was really an asset that we actually didn't know about, until we were well into it. And now I don't think I could give up the social part of it. I mean I absolutely just love that we're always surrounded by fabulous, helpful, welcoming, goal minded, positive people, and I just think that I mean, it's hard to pick what our favorite is, but I mean those might be my key pieces, that I love the most.

It is a great group! How would you say your life has changed the most since you started your business?

Well for me, I think it's been just having that sense of total autonomy, and flexibility. So part of it is that Heather and I always wanted an excuse to talk on the phone every day, so now, we get to do that, and nobody can tell us that it's not a work call. I think also the part where we can be flexible, for where we want to work. So for me, I like to split my time a bit between Calgary, where my family is, and family is like my immediate family, and then back onto the island, Vancouver Island, where I like to support some aging parents, and my friends, and that whole network out there. The part that I never have to ask for vacation time ever again. Sick time, if you have kids you never have to worry about all that, so it's just having that there's nobody else dictating our schedule, there's no permission required to do anything. If there is a day, that's really sunny, like today and tomorrow, I can head out and go hiking, and then come back and work on the business afterwards. So the part where it's just that total flexibility, and everyone is just so supportive, and goal focused. It's just such a new way of working, and we had never really thought about it before, but it really has changed everything about our lives, for the better.
