The Gray Hackle Peacock is a very simple but classic wet fly. It is the perfect fly to tie if you are wanting to get started tying wet flies. It has many of the same pieces and parts as more elaborate wet flies but not as complicated.

I have a class coming up on wet flies and I chose the Gray Hackle Peacock after watching Don Bastian's DVD on Tying Classic Wet flies. I highly recommend Don Bastian's DVD's for anyone wanting to get started in wet flies. There are links to his DVDs below.

More wet flies are on the way. For now I hope you enjoy the Gray Hackle Peacock wet fly.

If you have any questions about the tying of this fly feel free to let me know in the comments below.
