The Egg Sucking leech is a simple fly to tie, especially if you can already tie a Woolly Bugger. It is basically tied on a longer shank hook so there is plenty of room at the front for a bright egg. The important thing is to keep the leech portion proportionate to the overall fly and the egg. If you tie this on a standard Woolly Bugger hook (3x or 4x streamer hook) the leech section will be too short compared to the Egg. It is a staple pattern for Steelhead and Salmon but has been know n to take a number of large Brown and Rainbow trout as well. - Enjoy
