WHY I Have SIX Credit Cards At 19! | $6k+ In Rewards?

This is my story with explanations for why I obtained the 6 credit cards at age 19. For the majority of these credit card application decisions, I was targeting the signup bonus offers. Signup offers are an amazing way to gather free points that you can use for free travel and it is a huge part of the reason why I have grabbed $6k worth of it.

The first credit card I went for was the Discover IT Secured Card because I wanted to build up my credit which I recommend as the first card for everyone. I then went to the Capital One Quicksilver Cash as I was intrigued with the welcome bonus offer and the same with the third card which was the American Express Cash Magnet. I also went for this card to establish myself as an AMEX Customer which helped get me my fourth and fifth cards from American Express too which were the Gold Card and the Platinum Card. The gold card I plan to keep for a long time while the platinum card I will most likely be canceling soon as I do not travel enough. Finally, I snagged the Chase Sapphire Preferred as it was offering a 100k point signup off. Next, I most likely will be getting the Citi Custom Cash Card :)
