His level of excitement is nearly sexual. The subject of the interview looks like a dirty old man, and the viewer feels ashamed at the display. Normally this type of disgusting behaviour would be better off behind closed doors between consenting adults. Because he involves children in his sordid pursuits and he chooses to broadcast them to the world, they have become grist for good men to ponder.
