SEMI-AUTO PISTOL Malfunction Clearing Drills

Guns malfunction like any other machine. Sometimes it is ammunition-related or magazine-related. Other times it is the extractor or ejector. Sometimes it is piss poor maintenance. Whatever the cause if your life depends on it you better know how to get it back up and running. A T.R.B. drill (TapRackBang) will clear most malfunctions. However, not a three-point jam. A three-point jam is caused by an obstruction in the chamber. Usually a spent case. So a failure to extract and eject. Low slide velocity or a weak extractor or FILTHY chamber that sticks the case are all likely culprits. The pistol has fired and cycled the slide fully. As the slide begins its return it begins pushing the next cartridge out of the magazine and stops well short. Indications will be a dead trigger. As well as the slide standing wide open with the gleam of brass. Here is how you fix the issue.
L.R.R.
Lock slide open
Remove the magazine
Rack the slide 3x
Locking the slide open relieves the binding pressure.
Removing the magazine Frees the action.
Racking the slide clears the action. From there it is a simple
reload exercise.
