Cotton in the roadside, cotton in the ditch

With cotton over one dollar US a pound, makes you wonder why folks aren’t out there picking it up. Talked with a retired Cotton farmer two days ago. Told me that the cheapest he ever sold cotton was $.15 a pound, and that was extremely low. We had a long conversation about boll weevil eradication and how output from the same land has gone up 400%. Going forward I think there’s gonna be a lot more cotton in the roadside bitches…
