Indian Blanket Wildflower 🦋
The Indian Blanket, Gaillardia pulchella, is also commonly known as the Firewheel. It is a hardy, annual wildflower that is native to the central United States and is found in abundance in Oklahoma. The flower was designated as the Oklahoma State Wildflower in 1986.
The Indian Blanket has a daisy-like appearance with vibrant red petals that are tipped with yellow, resembling the colors and pattern of Native American blankets, which is how it got its name. It blooms from May to July and sometimes even into the fall months. The plant typically grows to be about 12 to 24 inches tall, and its flowers are 2 to 4 inches in diameter.
Gaillardia pulchella is well-adapted to the Oklahoma climate and soils. It is drought-resistant and thrives in full sun, making it an ideal plant for xeriscaping and naturalized settings. The bright colors of the Indian Blanket attract a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for both gardens and wildflower meadows.

I’m not good with words. Sun rises behind Cross.
The camera frames a rural cemetery, with the sun slowly ascending on the horizon, casting its golden rays across the landscape. The focal point of the shot is a cross-shaped tombstone, standing tall and proud amidst the gravestones, serving as a symbolic tribute to a departed loved one.
The atmosphere is further intensified by the distant rumble of thunder, adding an element of both melancholy and anticipation. The combination of the rising sun and the echoing thunder creates a juxtaposition of life and death, a moment of reflection on the cycle of existence and the transient nature of human life.
Without the use of words, the video encapsulates a deep and profound message. It invites viewers to contemplate the fragility of life, the importance of cherishing our loved ones, and the inevitability of our own mortality. The imagery evokes a sense of timelessness and universality, allowing viewers to reflect on their own experiences and emotions.

Rural Sunrise
Yo, check this out - Awakening Plains is this super chill 8-minute film that's basically like taking a morning walk through the Great Plains without leaving your couch. It’s a visual treat, guys. You're right there as daybreak starts to kick in and nature's getting its wake-up call.
The film starts off when it’s still kinda dark, and you’re like, “Where is this going?” But then you see this huge, open space - yeah, that’s the Great Plains, baby. You can almost feel the morning breeze and the grass is doing this cool wave thing. And you start to hear the birds - it’s like they’re telling each other, “Get up, dudes, it’s a brand new day!”
Now, the camera's got this rad Tokina 500mm lens that’s old school but crazy good. The focus is manual, so someone’s actually turning that ring to get the shots ultra-crisp. The lens is catching all the little stuff, like dewdrops on grass and birds looking like they’re posing for their profile pics.
As the sun starts climbing, the sky goes full-on artist mode with pinks, oranges, and golds. This lens, man, it makes the sunrise look so epic, like something out of a fantasy movie. The light's playing around with the shadows and it’s just...wow.
And then, the sounds of the morning start coming in stronger - it’s like nature’s soundtrack. Makes you feel all warm and cozy inside.
So, if you’re looking to start your day off on a good note, or just wanna chill and watch something beautiful, Awakening Plains is the way to go. It’s like a morning hug from Mother Nature.

Rumble vertical video
On Monday afternoon, rumble announced plans to begin vertical stories. I believe the primary, immediate, motivator was the main stream canceling of Andrew Tate.
Third attempt to upload. Rumble, hit me up if you want some feedback. Not a influencer, just like playing around with new technology.

Star trails
Thought I would give Rumble hey little taste of what I’ve been doing for a couple months. Basically taking time lapse exposures, whenever the skies are clear and sometimes when they’re not. No audio because I don’t want to steal anyone’s copyright. I was trying to research how rumble works now but I have found very little information and no useful information.

First metal print

I’ve had my Nikon for well over two years and have never ordered a metal print. Got it in on New Year’s Eve and since it was the cheapest option, not really too upset. However won’t be using this company again.

Full moon at sunset 14 minutes
The full moon will happen officially in a few hours but it rose about 20 minutes before sunset. I think this is a 2 GB file in 4K

Moon bing bong
I was just being silly. If I remember right it was a 15 GB 4K video that I compressed into social media friendly seconds. Don’t really care about the video, just wanted to test out how long it would take to upload a large File. The Gemini meteor shower is in a couple hours and I’m thinking about doing a very long 4K video of it… #StayTuned

4K Video recorded in FilMic Pro and edited in CamCut. Shutter noise from a Nikon Z6. Even though you can turn off the shutter sound in the mirror less camera’s, I love the sound.
