John Bonham of Led Zepplin RIP loved to incorporate the 4 quarter stroke ruff, the triplet and the six stroke roll into his his beats and fills.
Listening and emulating your favorite artists is always a good way to learn a certain style, don't get to close though because you always want to sound unique, the trick is to incorporate different styles into your own. This will create your unique sound.
