Yesterday was the four hundredth anniversary of the first thanksgiving celebrated by the Plymouth pilgrims in sixteen twenty one. But that wasn't actually the first thanksgiving celebrated in what's now the United States. So when was the first Thanksgiving actually celebrated by European settlers? Where and when it happened was probably not what you were taught. Let me explain why!
