In this video we will learn Indefinite words (positive words) and Negative words in Spanish.

In Spanish once a statement is negative you must continue using negative words, the more negative the merrier. This is a very different to English where we can only have one negative word.

In Spanish indefinite words can be either s/pl but negative words are generally singular.

algo (something) nada (nothing) for things
alguien (someone) nadie (nobody) for people
alguno (any) ninguno (none) could refer to either people or things
algunos (some) ninguno (none) could refer to either people or things

algún (any) ningún (none) could refer to either people or things
do this before a singular masculine noun

alguna (any) ninguna (none) could refer to either people or things
algunas (some) ninguna (none) could refer to either people or things
o....o (either, or) ni...ni (neither, nor)
siempre (always) nunca, jamás (never, not ever)
también (also, too) tampoco (neither, not either)

You can put the negative word before the verb or put NO before the verb and then add the negative word after the verb.

No hay nadie aquí nunca.
(There is never any one here.)

¿Tienes algunas revistas? (Do you have some magazines?)
Sí, tengo algunas revistas.
Sí, tengo alguna revista.
Sí, tengo alguna. (In here the word "alguna" replaces "revista")

No, no tengo ninguna revista.
No, no tengo ninguna. (In here the word "ninguna" replaces "revista")

¿Tienes algunos libros? (Do you have some books?)
Sí, tengo algunos libros.
Sí, tengo algún libro. (in here we must write "algún" since it is before the s/m noun "libro")
Sí, tengo alguno. (In here the word "alguno" replaces "libro")

No, no tengo ningún libro. (in here we must write "ningún" since it is before the s/m noun "libro")
No, no tengo ninguno. (In here the word "ninguno" replaces "libro")

Notice that in the negative form, all of the statements are singular.

Remember positive will go with positive, and negative will go with negative.
