Andrew Yang published a blog post on his website on Monday, announcing he was leaving the Democratic Party to become an Independent. He declared that he has been a staunch Democrat for the past two decades.

U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai delivered a speech on Oct. 4th announcing four approaches to the Biden administration's trade policy toward China. She emphasized the need for the Chinese Communist Party to implement the first phase of the U.S.-China trade agreement. She also said “most importantly, we must defend our economic interests to the fullest extent."
