Death of a Vision

There are many teachings in the Bible that are clear and universally applicable. Some examples would be: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself. (Deut. 6:5; Lev. 19:18; Luke 10:27); and you also have the Ten Commandments. In addition to these clear, universal teachings that spell out what we should or should not do, the Bible also teaches principles that we can apply to situations that the Bible does not address directly. One such principle is “The Death of a Vision”. You won’t find that expression in the Bible, but you will find several examples of the principle. This is not something that I discovered, it comes from the Christian homeschooling program that we used for our children. You may find that this will help you to better understand your own life experiences.

Here are the Bible passages that were used in the preparation of this message:
Genesis 17:19; 21:12; 22:1-18
Deuteronomy 6:5
Leviticus 19:18
Luke 10:27; 24:21
Hebrews 11:17-19
