20210903 Melting Pot - The Daily Summation

I don't have a problem with the idea that a country (the United States included) has a large amount of ethnic diversity.

In fact, I think it helps to make a more interesting and vibrant place.

That said, for any "melting pot" to "work," there have to be things that BRING ITS MEMBERS TOGETHER.

This is what scares me about current trends in America.

It's also what tends to look at the idea of Afghanistan as little more than a loosely bonded bunch of tribes.

If you don't have some sort of basic premises and concepts that are generally accepted, you'll more likely fall apart, than hang together.

This was what made Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia so successful, and I'm convinced it's what will make any other conglomeration of humanity seeking success as a society achieve it.

It was this thought, that was the impetus for the current edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
