High pressure is going to stick around for the next couple of days, providing seasonal and dry weather to our area. Considering that we will end the month as the second wetting August on record, I think we are going to be just fine without any rain for a few days. Highs throughout the rest of the week will remain in the lower to upper 70s with a light and steady northeast wind. On Friday, a weak cold front is forecast to move through and that may spark off a few showers and thunderstorms. The weekend looks rather quiet before another push of cooler air dives south from Canada as we welcome the first few days of September. It’s possible that some areas might not get into the 70 degree range sometime next week.
