Multiple models agree on a plume of high pressure settling over the Great Lakes Region through this week and into next week. An upper-level ridge will keep temperatures warmer than average at the surface, with multiple days of temperatures in the 80s. As we approach the weekend, heat indexes may begin to reach towards 90 and into the mid-90s by Monday, before a possible cold front sinks down from Canada, bringing much cooler air according to some long-range projections.
