"Particularly on a hot summer day playing pickup with the boys or getting swole at the gym, you may wonder about one simple health question, 'How many ounces of water should you drink a day?' First of all it's important to recognize that while it is important to be hydrated for cognitive function, metabolism and immune function - there may not be an exact answer to this question for everyone. A 300 pound grown man will probably drink a lot more than a hundred pound little girl. Likewise, a person who runs marathons will drink a lot more than the person who sits on the couch binging the office all day. Differences in each individual weight, appetite and exercise habits, cause variations in needed hydration, but it is generally recommended that one drinks eight - eight ounce cups of water each day or half a gallon. This is sometimes referred to as the eight by eight rule. However, is 64 ounces of water a day enough for everyone? While the 8x8 rule is a good starting point, health professionals go deeper in what they recommend for adequate hydration. Men can drink about 15.5 cups of fluid a day, while women should drink 11.5. Drinking enough water is an important part of a balanced diet - being hydrated allows for greater cardiovascular health, cools down the body, cleanses it from toxins and helps muscles and joints to function as they should, and also it helps the skin stay hydrated. Being well hydrated is an important part of being healthy and it prevents dehydration. Dehydration can mean a tremendous loss of energy, muscle cramps, blurred vision, dry skin, dizziness or lightheadedness, confusion and so on. Additionally, drinking hydrogen infused water can enhance water's benefits and improve overall health at any age. So let's raise a glass and hydrate mate. Subscribe and learn all about water and how to get the best water on the planet!"
