Oregon governor, Democrat Kate Brown quietly signed legislation last month that allows high school students to graduate without proving they can read, write, or do math. The new law reads that students “may not be required to show proficiency in essential learning skills as a condition of receiving a high school diploma” in the next three school years. You would think this is an important update for high-schoolers in the state. But the governor’s office didn’t announce the legislation. The new law didn’t enter into the legislative database for about two weeks until July 29th. People who signed up for alerts on action for the bill never received any.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer publicly released the full text of Sen. Bernie Sanders $3.5 trillion budget proposal yesterday. Just a few hours later, the Senate passed the legislation along party lines. Sanders described the bill as, quote, “The most consequential and comprehensive piece of legislation for working people that the Senate has addressed since Franklin D. Roosevelt.” But we know, the giant budget proposal is actually the most comprehensive left-wing socialist agenda initiative that would make all Americans dependent on big government.
